Description

Integration of Renewable Energy Technology, Economics, and Policy: Pathways to a Sustainable Transition provides a practical framework to tackle the multifaceted challenges of the energy transition, bridging the gaps between different disciplines and between theory and practice, and enabling the reader to navigate the complexity of energy transition. The book begins by introducing the current situation, challenges, and opportunities relating to the energy transition, and then goes on to review in detail the various key renewable energy sources and technologies, with evaluation of technical and economic viability as well as environmental impact, and supported with examples and case studies. The second part of the book highlights innovative optimization methods, simulation techniques, and the use of artificial intelligence, before the third part provides in-depth coverage of policy and regulation, market structures and financing, and market mechanisms and regional integration. Finally, new opportunities and future directions are discussed, such as the integration of electric vehicles into energy systems and the growth of next-generation renewable energy technologies. This valuable resource is designed to serve a diverse audience involved in or interested in renewable energy projects or the energy transition, including researchers, advanced students, faculty, engineers, technicians, R&D, scientists, and policy makers.
