Description
Imaging of Foreign Bodies, Aesthetic Implants, and Mal-Positioned Medical Devices in Humans offers an essential resource for radiologists, surgeons, emergency physicians, and related specialists involved in diagnosing and managing foreign bodies and medical device complications. This reference addresses the growing complexity of foreign body detection across diverse anatomical regions, emphasizing the need for precise imaging protocols and interpretation skills. It systematically covers the full spectrum of clinical presentations, from ingested and aspirated objects to iatrogenic and traumatic foreign bodies, integrating advanced imaging modalities such as plain radiography, CT—including innovative techniques like dual-energy CT—MRI, and ultrasound. The content is structured into detailed chapters, each providing insights into typical imaging signs, modality-specific advantages and limitations, and management strategies tailored to complex cases. The book aims to enhance diagnostic accuracy, reduce uncertainty, and facilitate prompt, appropriate intervention, ultimately improving patient outcomes. Its comprehensive scope and focus on emerging imaging technologies make it an indispensable tool for clinicians facing daily challenges in foreign body detection and management, as well as for researchers and educators seeking a current, authoritative reference.
