Dr. Hod serves as a member of the Executive Board of Directors, the International Association of Diabetes in Pregnancy Study Groups (IADPSG) and isthe Chairman of the Board of the Diabetic Pregnancy Study Group (DPSG) of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) and as a member of the postgraduate educational committee of the EASD. He is the author of more than 300 scientific publications has organized and chaired numerous international congresses and given workshops on various aspects of perinatal medicine. He is the founder and President of the International Symposium on Diabetic Pregnancy (DIP) held every two years. Prof. Hod is the co-President of the World Congress on Women’s Health: Innovations and Inventions (WHII 2020): Addressing Unmet Needs

Dr. Melamed is head of the Twins Research Centre at Sunnybrook. His research is focused mainly on improving the understanding of the mechanisms of pregnancy complications, fetal growth, and prediction and prevention of preterm birth in twin pregnancies. This work is supported by the Waugh Family Chair in Twins Research held by Dr. Melamed, and by a $1.5 million Canadian Institutes of Health Research Team Grant on noncommunicable diseases in obstetrics. His research also focuses on placental disease and fetal growth. He uses various approaches including biochemical markers, noninvasive cardiac monitoring, ultrasound and Doppler studies, and placental pathology.
