Graduated in Medical Biology from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters Barão de Mauá (1988), with a master’s degree in Immunogenetics from the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP, 1999) and a Ph.D. in Host-Parasite Relationship Biology from the University of São Paulo (USP, 2004). She completed her postdoctoral research at the Institute of Chemistry at USP (2004-2008) and the University of Georgia, USA (2010-2011). Currently, she is an Associate Professor at UNIFESP, Diadema campus, working in the field of Protozoology of Parasites, focusing on the characterization of Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) and their mechanisms of interaction with the host. She was a board member and part of the scientific committee of the International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV) from 2016-2020 and 2022-2024. She is an Associate Editor of journals such as Journal of Extracellular Vesicles (JEV), Journal of Extracellular Biology (JEB), Frontiers in Immunology, Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, and Brazilian Journal of Health Research (BJHR). Currently, she serves as the Communication Coordinator of ISEV (2024-2026).
