Axel Heidenreich
Axel Heidenreich is Professor of Urology and Chairman and Director of the Department of Urology, Uro-Oncology, Robot-Assisted and Specialized Urologic Surgery at the University Hospital in Cologne Germany since 2015. Dr. Heidenreich has developed surgical strategies in uro-oncology that have been adopted in national and international guidelines, such as organ sparing surgery in testis cancer (2001), modified template resection in postchemotherapy residual tumor resection for testis cancer named the “Heidenreich criteria” in the literature (2009), the role of extended pelvic lymphadenectomy in locally advanced prostate cancer (2001/2002), and cytoreductive radical prostatectomy in oligometastatic prostate cancer (2015).
