About the editors

Ning Ma

Professor Ning, Ma has devoted his career to clinical practice and research in the field of ischaemic cerebrovascular disease, with a particular focus on intracranial atherosclerosis. He is renowned for his expertise in complex endovascular procedures, including intracranial angioplasty and stenting, mechanical thrombectomy for acute large vessel occlusion, recanalization for chronic carotid and intracranial artery occlusion, thrombolysis in cerebral venous thrombosis, cerebral venous stenting, and aneurysmal coiling. Annually, Prof. Ma performs over 1000 cerebrovascular procedures.

In addition, Prof. Ma has led and participated in numerous projects funded by national grants, including the "13th Five-Year Plan National Key Research and Development Program".

In addition to his work in clinical research and education, he serves on committees for several key organizations, including the China National Clinical Research Centre for Neurological Disease and the China Stroke Prevention Project of the National Health and Family Planning Commission

Lui Wai Ting

Dr. Lui is a neurologist with a special interest in ischemic stroke and endovascular intervention. After graduating from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, she completed her training in neurology and internal medicine at the Prince of Wales Hospital. She was awarded the Hospital Authority Corporate Scholarship in Emergency Endovascular Treatment for Acute Ischemic Stroke and subsequently undertook post-fellowship training at Tiantan Hospital under the supervision of Professor Ning Ma. During this period, she participated in numerous complex endovascular treatments of intracranial atherosclerotic stenosis (ICAS) and co-edited this book. Dr. Lui currently serves as a resident specialist at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Hong Kong and holds an honorary position as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong
