About the editors

Mukund Janardhanan

Dr. Mukund Janardhanan serves as the Head of the Sustainable Engineering and Manufacturing Group and Associate Professor at the esteemed WMG department, University of Warwick. With over a decade of experience spanning academia and industry, Mukund is passionate about leveraging digital technologies and optimizing manufacturing systems to drive innovation, sustainability, and excellence in engineering education and research. He has published over 70 articles in leading international journals and conferences. He has served as a guest editor for special issues in top-tier journals and as a program committee member for international conferences.

Mukund was awarded the University Distinguished Teaching Fellowship in 2023 by the University of Leicester, recognizing his outstanding contributions to research inspired education. A Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

SP

S.G. Ponnambalam

S. G. Ponnambalam has forty-one years of experience with thirty-nine years in academia and two years in a manufacturing company as Production Engineer. He is currently holding Dean (Research) position at AMET University, Chennai, India. Earlier he held senior academic positions at VIT University, India, University Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia, Monash University Malaysia, National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappali, and PSG College of Technology, India. His area of expertise includes design and analysis of automated manufacturing systems and robotic assembly line systems. He is serving as Associate Editor and as editorial board member for many international journals. He has over 300 articles published in various referred journals and refereed conference proceedings. Professor Ponnambalam has also edited books in the field of manufacturing systems and supply chain.

He is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (UK) and a Chartered Engineer registered with the Engineering Council, UK. He is also a senior member of IEEE, USA.

J. Paulo Davim

Prof. (Dr.) J. Paulo Davim is a Full Professor at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, with over 35 years of experience in Mechanical, Materials, and Industrial Engineering. He holds multiple distinguished academic titles, including a PhD in Mechanical Engineering and a DSc from London Metropolitan University. He has published over 300 books and 600 articles, with more than 36,500 citations. He is ranked among the world's top 2% scientists by Stanford University and holds leadership positions in numerous international journals, conferences, and research projects.
