Description
Covering the entire spectrum of this constantly evolving field, the fourth edition of Diagnostic Imaging: Musculoskeletal Trauma is an invaluable resource for general radiologists, specialized radiologists, and trainees―anyone who requires an easily accessible, highly visual reference on today’s musculoskeletal imaging. Drs. Kambiz Motamedi, Donna G. Blankenbaker, Kirkland W. Davis, and a team of highly regarded experts, including Drs. Dyan V. Flores, Barry G. Hansford, and Kathryn J. Stevens, provide up-to-date information on recent advances in surgical techniques as well as the understanding of specific traumatic musculoskeletal conditions to help you make informed decisions and support patient management. The image-rich design and succinct, bulleted text convey details quickly and include the latest literature references, making this book a useful learning tool as well as a handy reference for daily practice.
Key features
Key features
- Contains 250 up-to-date chapters that guide you through all important musculoskeletal trauma and sports medicine entities, including postoperative imaging for foot and ankle surgery, injuries to core muscles, and peripheral nerve injuries as they relate to specific musculoskeletal injuries/trauma
- Presents the advantages and disadvantages of specific imaging techniques—ultrasound, CT, MR, radiography, and nuclear medicine—for diagnoses, including new imaging guidelines such as the use of 3T MR vs. MR arthrography
- Explores topics specific to pediatric patients, including dedicated chapters on child abuse and growth plate (physis) injuries
- Covers new musculoskeletal consensus papers regarding imaging recommendations, new criteria for diagnoses, and new terminology
- Features new discussions of “ramp lesions” (injuries that occur at the margin of the medial meniscus); rotator cuff anatomy and tears; and evolution of arthroscopy techniques to allow better assessment of these injuries in the operating room
- Features more than 7,100 high-quality images (3,700+ in print with an additional 3,400+ images in the complimentary eBook), including radiology images, full-color illustrations, clinical photographs, and intraoperative and arthroscopic images
- Uses succinct bulleted text and highly templated chapters for quick comprehension of essential information at the point of care
- Includes a complimentary eBook that allows you access to everything in the print version as well as additional images, text, and references, with the ability to search, customize your content, make notes and highlights, and have content read aloud
