Zubaida Hassan

Zubaida Hassan is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Life Sciences, Modibbo Adama University in Yola, Nigeria. Dr. Hassan earned her BTech in Microbiology from Federal University of Technology, Yola, Nigeria, her MSc in Microbiology (Cell and Molecular Biology)

at the Universiti Putra Malaysia, and her PhD in Biomedical Sciences (Molecular Virology) at the United Arab Emirates University. Dr. Hassan’s PhD project was on ‘Structural impact of Epstein-Barr virus-encoded small RNA-1 on its transport and function’. Dr. Hassan has several publications in peer‐reviewed journals, contributed book chapters, and co-authored a book on Molecular Techniques for Studying Viruses. Dr. Hassan’s research interest focused on viral pathogenesis, especially on oncogenic and zoonotic viruses that are of public health concern. Dr. Hassan received several international conference scholarship awards from reputable organizations to attend and present her work.

Nurulfiza Mat Isa

Nurulfiza Mat Isa is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia and also the Head of the Laboratory of Vaccine and Biomolecules, Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia. Dr. Isa obtained her first degree in Biotechnology and PhD in Molecular Biology from Universiti Putra Malaysia. She was appointed as an Honorary Member of the Evolution, Ecology and Behaviour Department, University of Liverpool, United Kingdom during her Post-Doctoral fellowship in ageing bioinformatics research. Dr. Isa’s primary research interests are in molecular mechanisms of viral pathogenesis and infectious diseases, with a particular focus on poultry viruses. She has significant publications in peer‐reviewed journals and book chapters related to poultry and animal viruses. She has received several national and international awards and secured several grants related to poultry vaccine development and virus profiling. She was also appointed to the Expert Panel at both national and international level and has been trained as an Ensemble trainer by the Ensembl outreach program in the genomics field.
