Description

Building Blocks of Neuroimmunometabolism: From Molecular Pathways to Therapeutic Strategies offers an authoritative exploration of the intricate relationship between the immune system and neurodegenerative diseases. This essential resource addresses the critical gap in understanding how immune responses and metabolic processes jointly influence the onset and progression of conditions such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and multiple sclerosis. The book provides a comprehensive examination of key molecular pathways and cellular interactions, emphasizing the role of immunometabolism in disease mechanisms.

Beginning with an introduction to the concept of immunometabolism, the book explores the connections between the immune and nervous systems, setting the stage for understanding neurodegenerative diseases. It discusses pivotal topics such as the role of microglia and macrophages in neuroinflammation, the metabolic regulation of T cells, and the impact of oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction. The gut-brain axis is examined for its influence on brain health, alongside innovative therapeutic strategies targeting immunometabolic pathways and lifestyle interventions.

Building Blocks of Neuroimmunometabolism: From Molecular Pathways to Therapeutic Strategies is invaluable for researchers, clinicians, and students seeking to understand the complex interactions driving neurodegeneration. The book offers cutting-edge insights into immunometabolism, highlighting its potential to revolutionize therapeutic strategies and improve patient outcomes in neurodegenerative disorders.
