Syed Mudasir Ahmad

Prof. Syed Mudasir Ahmad is a distinguished scholar and researcher with 16 years of expertise in biotechnology. Prof. Mudasir is currently serving as the head of the division of animal biotechnology at SKUAST-Kashmir, India. His areas of research include biotechnology, bioinformatics and bioengineering. Prof. Mudasir has done his PhD in biotechnology from Jamia Millia Islamia, India and IIIM-Jammu, India, and postdoctoral fellowship from the University of California, USA. His extensive career has been highlighted by groundbreaking research and countless contributions to the scientific community. His findings have important implications for public health and veterinary science, providing novel and innovative approaches to disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Notably, Prof. Mudasir has developed a recombinant multiserotype vaccine for salmonellosis in poultry to enhance food safety and poultry health. He is also involved in many innovative projects, focusing on AMR, omics technologies, and bioengineered products. Prof. Mudasir’s research is well-funded. He has published more than 110 research articles in prestigious journals and has written many books. Prof. Mudasir is also an editorial board member of many reputable journals.

Nazir A Ganai

Prof. Nazir Ahmad Ganai (BVSc, MVSc, PhD, PDF) is currently serving as the vice chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir, India. He acquired his PhD from the National Dairy Research Institute, India in animal genetics and breeding. He has also completed multiple postdoctoral fellowships at Wageningen University, The Netherlands, University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA, and the Durham University, UK. He has authored more than a hundred publications and a book. He has been awarded extramural grants worth millions of dollars for the Institutes he served including the 30 crore World Bank Funded National Agricultural Higher Education Project. He is also the recipient of the Indian National Science Academies’ Best Teacher Award, 2019. Dr Ganai has a teaching and research experience of more than 28 years. He was a part of the research team that developed Noorie, the world’s first pashmina Goat clone.

Basharat Bhat

Dr. Basharat Bhat is a distinguished researcher and educator with over 10 years of experience in the fields of applied bioinformatics and computational biology. Currently serving as an assistant professor at the Center for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at SKUAST-Kashmir, India, Dr. Bhat has made significant contributions to the fields of drug development, plant genotyping, and crop improvement. His research expertise includes utilizing GWAS and EWAS studies to identify markers associated with various traits, and development of climate-smart, resistant crops. Dr. Bhat completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Otago, New Zealand, where his research focused on epigenomics and epitranscriptomics, with particular attention to their implications for human health and development of diagnostic test for CVDs. Dr. Bhat is actively involved in several innovative projects that uses OMICS technologies for both human health and agricultural advancements. His work integrates artificial intelligence in agriculture, focusing on enhancing productivity and resilience in crops through genomic and epigenomic insights. With over 50 high-impact publications in international journals, Dr. Bhat is also an author of several books and serves as an editorial board member and reviewer for various reputed journals.
