Dr. S. Sivaramakrishnan is a researcher and educator with over 25 years of experience in the fields of environmental sustainability, agricultural biotechnology, biopesticides, and nanobiotechnology. Throughout his career, he has made significant contributions to these areas, particularly in their applications to biomedical contexts. His academic journey is marked by extensive scholarly output, including the authorship of five books and co-authorship of another. Furthermore, he has mentored and supervised numerous students, guiding them through their research endeavors at various academic levels, from M.Sc. to Ph.D. and M.Tech. Dr. Sivaramakrishnan's achievements extend beyond academia, with notable recognitions such as winning the Young Scientists Award on four occasions. He actively participates in the academic community by serving on the editorial board of prestigious journals like the European Journal of Nematology and contributing as a reviewer for multiple other publications. His research prowess is evident in his numerous scientific publications, which have appeared in esteemed national and international journals. As a principal investigator, he has led several major projects funded by prominent organizations such as the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of Science and Technology (DST), and University Grants Commission (UGC). Dr. Sivaramakrishnan's influence extends globally through his international collaborations, having established Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with institutions in the USA, Korea, Iran, and Turkey. With mentorship from notable figures, she earned postgraduate and doctoral degrees, specializing in composting and microbial technology for soil remediation. Throughout hercareer, she's received awards and fellowships for her research, including on bioremediation and agricultural waste composting. At Bharathidasan University, she's led initiatives on various fronts, from developing food databases to designing wastewater treatment structures. Her research spans diverse areas, including studying the impact of pollutants on hormone receptors and air pollution effects on stress hormones. Currently, she's pioneering bio-char research and has applied for patents related to alternative growing mediums. Outside academia, she's committed to community outreach, advocating for environmental conservation through platforms like All India Radio and YouTube. With over two decades of experience, she serves as a professor and head of the Department of Environmental Management, focusing on carbon neutrality and sustainable development.
