Bee Pathogens

The research on diseases affecting bees continues to teach scientists more and more about these often detrimental pathogens, which are capable of quickly and easily collaping colonies. Though this knowledge continues to grow in volume, it is slow to be applied to feild work with both wild and managed bees. Bee Pathogens: Implications, Research Advances, and Outlook gathers the latest knowledge on bee diseases for an advanced and innovative understanding of each disease, the epidemiology, impact on different species of bees, and repercussions for their ecosystems. The final chapter will also analyze the effects of bee pathogens on other arthropods as a consequence of interspecific transmission or spillover phenomena, in a One-Health approach. Each chapter will cover a different pathogen, including viral, bacterial, fungal, parasitic and protagenic diseases, and each will be written by a renowned expert on that specific pathogen.
