James N. Palmer, MD, is the Director of the Division of Rhinology, the Co-Director of the Cranial Base Center, David W. Kennedy, MD Professor, and Professor of Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery in Neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He specializes in otorhinolaryngology with a clinical interest in sinus surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, endoscopic CSF leak repair, and surgical management of epistaxis. His research specialties include minimally invasive approaches to sinus and skull base tumors, topical medications for sinusitis, novel therapeutics for recalcitrant chronic rhinosinusitis, bacterial biofilms and chronic rhinosinusitis, cilia function and chronic rhinosinusitis. Dr. Palmer is board certified in otorhinolaryngology. He is active in many professional societies including the American Rhinologic Society, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, the International Symposium on Infection and Allergy of the Nose, and the International Rhinologic Society.
