Description

Advances in Metal Cutting: Process Development and Innovations provides a thorough overview of innovations in machine tools, novel lubrication strategies, advanced hybrid technologies, and advances in process modelling, simulation, and optimization for metal cutting. The book starts with discussion of advances in cutting tools and how those advances can enhance performance, with insight into optimization of texturing parameters, including microwave and cryogenic-treated tool-based metal cutting. New tool materials, such as ceramics, cermets, and nano-structured materials are discussed. Various lubrication strategies are outlined including nano-fluids, electrostatic, hybrid-nano, and solid. Hybrid approaches to texturing and coating are also discussed, and the book concludes with coverage of advances in simulation and modeling approaches and how to use artificial intelligence and machine learning in metal cutting.
