Description
Advanced Nanomaterials for Water Treatment: Innovation to Real-World Applications addresses the urgent global need for sustainable, high-performance water purification technologies by bridging cutting-edge nanoscience with practical deployment strategies. As water scarcity, industrial contamination, and emerging pollutants intensify worldwide, researchers and practitioners require resources that move beyond laboratory-scale discovery toward scalable, economically viable solutions. This reference responds to that demand by integrating materials design, mechanistic understanding, and translational pathways. It emphasizes not only adsorption, photocatalysis, membrane systems, and hybrid nano-enabled platforms, but also techno-economic feasibility, regulatory compliance, lifecycle thinking, and environmental safety. The volume is organized into thematic sections covering advanced nanomaterial synthesis, green fabrication routes, morphology and surface engineering, and industrial scale-up strategies. Mechanistic chapters examine adsorption phenomena, redox processes, photocatalytic and electrocatalytic systems, electro spun nanofibers, nano-bio interfaces, and the treatment of emerging contaminants including pharmaceuticals, PFAS, and microplastics. Subsequent sections address system integration, hybrid treatment architectures, environmental fate, toxicological risk assessment, circular economy frameworks, and global regulatory considerations. Case studies highlight decentralized systems, industrial effluent treatment, techno-economic modeling, digital integration with smart monitoring platforms, and commercialization pathways supported by pilot- and full-scale demonstrations.
Advanced Nanomaterials for Water Treatment: Innovation to Real-World Applications provides researchers, engineers, industry professionals, and graduate students with a rigorous yet application-oriented framework for translating nanotechnology into deployable water solutions. By combining multidisciplinary expertise with real-world case analyses, this reference supports informed material selection, process optimization, risk evaluation, and strategic innovation toward sustainable global water security.
