Data and Information Management (DIM) is an interdisciplinary, double-blind peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality original research papers in the field of data and information management. It aims to advance theoretical and/or methodological development related to data and information across various domains, including but not limited to business, academia, government, health, education, finance, marketing, and the Internet. DIM encourages and prioritizes submissions from a wide range of disciplines, such as library and information science, information systems, computer science, management, communication, and other related fields. The primary mission of DIM is to drive effective management of diverse data and information through cutting-edge research, ultimately fostering social development and enhancing human well-being.More specifically, DIM is particularly interested in the following types of submissions (Authors are also encouraged to provide specific details on these points in the cover letter):Manuscripts with a clear interdisciplinary nature, intended to appeal to readership from at least 2-3 different disciplines, and must include the discipline of Library and Information Science.Manuscripts that are topical, addressing important contemporary issues and capable of generating broad academic interest. Manuscripts containing unique and large-scale datasets, uncovering hidden patterns, associations and correlations, thereby providing profound insights and understanding for both academia and industry. Manuscripts demonstrating strong theoretical or methodological contributions, alongside rigorous methods and results, are preferred. The journal does not accept purely descriptive studies or papers solely focused on practical applications. Review articles should be critical, comprehensive and in-depth, integrating prior research and providing recommendations for future studies in the field. While DIM operates as a gold open-access (OA) journal, it imposes no fees on authors, and the Article Publishing Charge (APC) will be covered by Wuhan University. The articles published in DIM can be freely accessed, shared, downloaded, and disseminated, thereby enhancing the visibility and reach of research work featured on DIM and contributing to the academic influence of our authors.

The journal is especially interested in original research articles, research survey articles, research method articles, and articles addressing critical applications of research.Specifically, the journal is interested in four types of manuscripts, which are:Research manuscripts addressing topics at the intersection of computer and information science. Methods manuscripts focusing on the application of novel methods at the intersection of computer and information science.Review manuscripts assessing, in a critical and in-depth manner, a broad trend at the intersection of computer and information science, providing integration of the prior research, and recommendations for further work in the area.Critical application manuscripts concerning system design research at the intersection of computer and information science.
Advances in information and communication technologies are associated with a wide and increasing range of social consequences, which are experienced by individuals, work groups, organizations, interorganizational networks, and societies at large. Understanding the relationships between communication, digital technologies and organizations is an increasingly important and urgent societal and scholarly concern in many disciplinary fields.Information and Organization seeks to publish original articles on the relationships between digital technologies, communication, and organizations. It seeks a scholarly understanding that is based on empirical research and builds novel theoretical contributions. A particular focus of Information and Organization is to publish qualitative and interpretive research which adopts case studies, ethnography and in-depth longitudinal empirical studies, including critical theory and science and technology studies.Papers that provoke critical thinking on important subjects are welcomed, including articles that focus on research impact and contributions to knowledge in our special section (RICK). The aim is to provide a forum that brings together innovative, reflective, and rigorous scholarship while being relevant for practice.Of special interest are contributions on the social construction of information technologies, the implications of digital technologies for innovation and organizational change, alternative organizational designs such as virtual organizations and ecosystems, ICT's for institutional and societal change, global strategy and digitalization, data driven organizations and changes in work, ethics of digital technologies and data governance. The journal seeks contributions from fields such as information systems, organization theory, history and philosophy of science and technology, practice theory, institutional theory, strategy, and communication studies.

The Journal for Information ProfessionalsThe International Journal of Information Management (IJIM) is an international, peer-reviewed journal which aims to bring its readers the very best analysis and discussion in the developing field of information management. The journal: • Keeps the reader briefed with major papers, reports and reviews • Is topical: Viewpoint articles and other regular features including Research Notes, Case Studies and a Reviews section help keep the reader up to date with current issues. • Focusses on high quality papers that address contemporary issues for all those involved in information management and which make a contribution to advancing information management theory and practice.Information is critical for the survival and growth of organisations and people. The challenge for Information management is now less about managing activities that collect, store and disseminate information. Rather, there is greater focus on managing activities that make changes in patterns of behaviour of customers, people, and organizations, and information that leads to changes in the way people use information to engage in knowledge focussed activities.Information management covers a wide field and we encourage submissions from diverse areas of practice and settings including business, health, education and government.Topics covered include:Aspects of information management in learning organisations, health care (patients as well health workers and managers), business intelligence, security in organizations, social interactions and community development, knowledge management, information design and delivery, information for health care, Information for knowledge creation, legal and regulatory issues, IS-enabled innovations in information, content and knowledge management, philosophical and methodological approaches to information management research, new and emerging agendas for information research and reflective accounts of professional practice.International Journal of Information Management is the companion title to the open access journal International Journal of Information Management Data Insights. In 2002, Elsevier launched Library Connect, a new initiative bringing together many of Elsevier's library-focused efforts. A companion title to the International Journal of Information Management, IJIM Data Insights is a peer reviewed gold open access journal focusing on empirical evidences for information management using emerging data science methods.Data science is an emerging research methodology that contributes to information management through the influence of data analysis methods borrowed from disciplines like computer science, operations research and statistics. It attempts to extract knowledge and generate inferences by using a variety of methods, processes, algorithms and perspectives to provide actionable insights into a context or problem. The empirical evidences could be extracted from structured, semi-structured or unstructured data and contribute to information management and data driven decision making literature.IJIM Data Insights is interested in publishing state-of-the-art articles which address one or more the following themes and contexts:Empirical studies which use a data-driven approach for contributing towards information management literature.Data science and big data studies surrounding unstructured data analysis like opinion mining, sentiment analysis, text mining, image mining, video analytics and network science generated by individuals, groups, communities and firms.Studies which adopt emerging methods like machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms for improving decision making and information management are welcome if they provide novel empirical evidences.Case studies on information management which demonstrate theoretical insights based on empirical evidences in an organizational or national setting.Studies in related disciplines in management and social sciences can be published if they contribute to information management and data-based decision making literature adequately. The journal publishes studies that validate theoretical models based on cross-sectional and longitudinal data, experiments, and even qualitative research. However, strength of data analysis for demonstrating findings objectively would be very critical for these studies to get published.Studies surrounding emerging technologies like blockchain, IoT and others which use machine learning and data science are welcome, if they are connected with information management and data driven decision making.Case studies which demonstrate a practical application of the methods and practices of projects using data science and information management would also be welcome.
