Journal of Psychology and Education Learning and Individual Differences is a research journal devoted to publishing articles of individual differences as they relate to learning within an educational context. The Journal focuses on original empirical studies of high theoretical and methodological rigor that make a substantial scientific contribution and advance our knowledge on individual differences as they relate to cognitive and/or non-cognitive features across diverse learning contexts. The Journal receives submissions from different fields such as psychology, educational sciences, and the learning sciences and welcomes interdisciplinary research. Learning and Individual Differences publishes original research. There are three types of original articles: Full length articles, brief reports, and multistudy reports. Full length articles should be no longer than 8000 words of primary text (not including abstract, educational relevance and implications statement, tables, figures, references, and other materials). Brief reports should be no longer than 4000 words of primary text (not including abstract, educational relevance and implications statement, tables, figures, references, and other materials). Multistudy reports should be no longer than 12000 words of primary text (not including abstract, educational relevance and implications statement, tables, figures, references, and other materials). The core criteria for whether a manuscript is published are its scientific rigor and the new knowledge that it adds to the existing body of knowledge. To this end, we are particularly looking for manuscripts that report on longitudinal data analyses, include data on diverse (in the best case representative) or underrepresented populations, and combine several sources of information such as self-report and objective performance data. Inclusion of power calculations where appropriate is considered an advantage. Manuscripts that don't meet these criteria such as studies that are cross-sectional (in particular when they report mediation analyses), stem from highly specific samples, and include only self-reports need to make a strong case on why they advance our knowledge to a sufficient level for inclusion in the Journal and have a higher likelihood of not being considered for publication in Learning and Individual Differences. Learning and Motivation is committed to publishing articles concerned with learning, cognition, and motivation, based on laboratory or field studies of either humans or animals. Manuscripts are invited that report on applied behavior analysis, and on behavioral, neural, and evolutionary influences on learning and motivation. A variety of formats will be considered, including integrated series of experiments, shorter reports, review and theoretical papers, and commentary on specific issues. Legal Medicine provides an international forum for the publication of original articles, reviews and correspondence on subjects that cover practical and theoretical areas of interest relating to the wide range of legal medicine. Subjects covered include forensic pathology, toxicology, odontology, anthropology, criminalistics, immunochemistry, hemogenetics and forensic aspects of biological science with emphasis on DNA analysis and molecular biology. Submissions dealing with medicolegal problems such as malpractice, insurance, child abuse or ethics in medical practice are also acceptable.

Mental Health and Physical Activity is an international forum for scholarly reports on any aspect of relevance to advancing our understanding of the relationship between mental health and physical activity. Manuscripts will be considered for publication which deal with high quality research, comprehensive research reviews, and critical reflection of applied or research issues. The journal is open to the use of diverse methodological approaches. Reports of practice will need to demonstrate academic rigour, preferably through analysis of programme effectiveness, and go beyond mere description. The aims of Mental Health and Physical Activity are: (1) To foster the inter-disciplinary development and understanding of the mental health and physical activity field; (2) To develop research designs and methods to advance our understanding; (3) To promote the publication of high quality research on the effects of physical activity (interventions and a single session) on a wide range of dimensions of mental health and psychological well-being (e.g., depression, anxiety and stress responses, mood, cognitive functioning and neurological disorders, such as dementia, self-esteem and related constructs, psychological aspects of quality of life among people with physical and mental illness, sleep, addictive disorders, eating disorders), from both efficacy and effectiveness trials; (4) To promote high quality research on the biophysical and psychosocial mechanisms involved to help our understanding of the link between physical activity and mental health, and guide intervention development; (5) To provide an evidence-based source for professionals working in the field of mental health and a forum to consider service delivery issues. We continue to receive many more manuscripts than we can possibly publish. Therefore, in order to reduce any delay in publishing the best science, the following guidelines should be considered prior to submitting a manuscript, in addition to guidance from EQUATOR (https://www.equator-network.org/). The types of studies given the highest priority are the following: Etiologic or experimental studies testing a specific hypothesis or highlighting a specific mechanism relating physical activity or inactivity to mental health. Prospective or longitudinal studies. Randomised controlled trials, or related protocol papers which follow CONSORT guidelines. Studies that are truly innovative and involve in-depth or novel data collection and analysis (including both quantitative and qualitative methods), or advance research methods. High quality, novel systematic reviews (based on quantitative and qualitative studies) that follow PRISMA guidelines. The following types of manuscripts will be given the lowest priority and are the most likely to be rejected without review: Small, cross-sectional, descriptive studies without any innovative features. Studies having no control or reference group, unless they are clearly part of a step in testing, using mixed methods, the feasibility and acceptability of an intervention within a larger program of study. Studies that involve statistical hypothesis testing of intervention effects when there is no justification for the sample size. Studies consisting of non-clinical samples, unless they clearly add to our understanding of the physical activity and well-being relationship. Studies in which physical activity is only a covariate of interest. Studies with no recognized measure of physical activity.

Methods in Psychology considers articles on new, updated, adapted or innovative research methodologies and methods, analytical methods, and research practices across the breadth of psychological research. Articles can be specific to a single sub-discipline of psychology or have relevance to the entire field.We encourage the integration and adaption of methods, methodologies and analytic approaches from one area of psychology or field of research to another, and the adaptation of methods from other disciplines which have relevance for psychological research practice.The journal considers research methods across the whole spectrum, and welcomes articles which take a quantitative, qualitative or mixed-methods approach to research. The journal solicits original theoretical, empirical, and methodological articles that have psychological relevance discussing new innovative applications or adaptations of methodologies and methods, or articles offering reviews of important methodological issues and innovations. The journal aims to be the leading forum for psychology researchers from all areas of psychology, and seeks to offer original and ground-breaking articles on research methods that advance the field. The intended audience for journal content is academics, researchers, students and practitioners across diverse fields of psychology who seek relevant and informative content on the latest in research methods and research practices.The journal does not seek to publish technical research articles for specialist methodologists, or to publish research where research methods and practices are not the primary focus. Submissions should make explicit how the theories, methods and procedures they discuss enhance the quality and value of psychological research, and should be written to be accessible to a wide non-technical audience across psychology.

The Official Journal of the International Neural Network Society & Japanese Neural Network Society Neural Networks provides a forum for developing and nurturing an international community of scholars and practitioners who are interested in all aspects of neural networks, including deep learning and related approaches to artificial intelligence and machine learning. Neural Networks welcomes submissions that contribute to the full range of neural networks research, from cognitive modeling and computational neuroscience, through deep neural networks and mathematical analyses, to engineering and technological applications of systems that significantly use neural network concepts and learning techniques. This uniquely broad range facilitates the cross-fertilization of ideas between biological and technological studies and helps to foster the development of the interdisciplinary community that is interested in biologically-inspired artificial intelligence. Neuropsychologia is an international interdisciplinary journal devoted to experimental and theoretical contributions that advance understanding of human cognition and behavior from a neuroscience perspective. The journal will consider for publication studies that directly link brain function with cognitive processes, including perception, attention and consciousness, action and motor control, executive functions and cognitive control, memory, language, and emotion and social cognition. Submission of papers using methodologies such as functional and structural neuroimaging, cognitive electrophysiology, and brain stimulation to significantly advance cognitive and psychological theory is strongly encouraged. Neuropsychologia has a long history of publishing lesion-deficit studies, and these remain highly appropriate for the journal. Animal studies are also welcome, provided they have a direct and explicitly specified impact on understanding the brain basis of human cognition and behavior. Studies that employ a purely behavioral approach in neurologically healthy participants are not appropriate for the journal unless the findings have a direct and significant bearing on the understanding of the neural mechanisms or systems supporting cognition and behavior. Studies of clinical populations that are primarily descriptive or intended to elucidate a clinical disorder, or that evaluate a therapeutic intervention, are not appropriate for the journal. Special issues and Review Papers are published regularly with the aim of providing authoritative surveys of topics of major interest.
