Progress in Energy and Combustion Science
An Affiliated Journal of The Combustion InstituteProgress in Energy and Combustion Science (PECS) publishes review articles on all aspects of energy and combustion science, providing a comprehensive in-depth overview, evaluation, and discussion of a particular topic. Climate change and conservation of energy requires an efficient combustion of fossil fuels and as importantly, emerging sustainable energy systems beyond combustion. The protection of the environment demands a limitation of the pollutants, including greenhouse gases, emitted from combustion and other energy-intensive systems. Combustion also plays an important role in process technology and materials science.Progress in Energy and Combustion Science contains articles by internationally recognized authors in the fields of combustion, flames, fuel science and technology, and a wide range of sustainable energy solutions. Each volume contains a number of specially commissioned review articles that provide the reader with an orderly and concise survey and scientific discussion of a particular aspect of combustion and energy. While they should not be unnecessarily long, the length of the articles allows authors to discuss their subjects more fully and comprehensively than can be undertaken in papers reporting original work. These review articles provide an opportunity for researchers to become usefully informed in fields other than their own. They are of use to students seeking a review of a particular subject, together with a comprehensive bibliography, as well as to engineers working in government and industrial research establishments, seeking practical solutions.Reviews are by invitation of the editors only. If your proposal is accepted, the Editors will invite you to submit your Review.Occasionally, PECS solicits short Perspectives to highlight recent successes, current developments, and future research needs in energy and combustion science. International Journal of Critical Infrastructure Protection
The International Journal of Critical Infrastructure Protection (IJCIP) was launched in 2008, with the primary aim of publishing scholarly papers of the highest quality in all areas of critical infrastructure protection. Of particular interest are articles that weave science, technology, law and policy to craft sophisticated yet practical solutions for securing assets in the various critical infrastructure sectors. These critical infrastructure sectors include: information technology, telecommunications, energy, banking and finance, transportation systems, chemicals, critical manufacturing, agriculture and food, defense industrial base, public health and health care, national monuments and icons, drinking water and water treatment systems, commercial facilities, dams, emergency services, nuclear reactors, materials and waste, postal and shipping, and government facilities. Protecting and ensuring the continuity of operation of critical infrastructure assets are vital to national security, public health and safety, economic vitality, and societal wellbeing.The scope of the journal includes, but is not limited to:1. Analysis of security challenges that are unique or common to the various infrastructure sectors. 2. Identification of core security principles and techniques that can be applied to critical infrastructure protection. 3. Elucidation of the dependencies and interdependencies existing between infrastructure sectors and techniques for mitigating the devastating effects of cascading failures. 4. Contributions are encouraged that report the experimental elucidation of metabolic pathways, metabolic regulation, or the biosynthesis and roles of macromolecules. Reports improving our understanding of how phytochemicals act in planta are particularly welcomed, as are studies of transgenic organisms or of metabolic variation.Reviews are an authoritative and timely overview in a defined area and are intended to catch the interest of the general reader. Journal of Computational Physics
The Journal of Computational Physics (JCP) focuses on the computational aspects of physical problems. JCP encourages original scientific contributions in advanced mathematical and numerical modeling reflecting a combination of concepts, methods and principles which are often interdisciplinary in nature and span several areas of physics, mechanics, applied mathematics, statistics, applied geometry, computer science, chemistry and other scientific disciplines as well: the Journal's editors seek to emphasize methods that cross disciplinary boundaries.JCP also encourages the submission of papers that develop innovative methods bridging mathematical, physical modeling and algorithmization, e.g. at the frontier between predictive simulation and machine learning. When addressing problems previously covered by other approaches, a comparison should be provided. As for any paper in JCP, the efficacy, robustness, computational complexity, as well as reproducibility should be addressed.JCP also publishes short notes of 4 pages or less (including figures, tables, and references but excluding title pages). Letters to the Editor commenting on articles already published in this Journal will also be considered. Neither notes nor letters should have an abstract. Review articles providing a survey of particular fields are particularly encouraged. JCP does not impose a formal page limit. Authors are expected to present their work clearly and concisely. The handling Editor will assess whether the length of the manuscript is appropriate for the content and may request a shorter version of the submission if necessary. As the impact of and knowledge discovery enabled by computational science and engineering continues to increase, it is imperative that reproducibility becomes a natural part of these activities. This should not only include information used for setup but also details on post-processing to recover published results.

JMR (Journal of Magnetic Resonance) presents original technical and scientific papers in all aspects of magnetic resonance, including nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) of solids and liquids, electron spin/paramagnetic resonance (EPR), in vivo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy (MRS), nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) and magnetic resonance phenomena at nearly zero fields or in combination with optics. JMR's main aims include deepening the physical principles underlying all these spectroscopies, publishing significant theoretical and experimental results leading to spectral and spatial progress in these areas, and opening new MR-based applications in chemistry, biology and medicine. JMR also seeks descriptions of novel apparatuses, new experimental protocols, and new procedures of data analysis and interpretation - including computational and quantum-mechanical methods - capable of advancing MR spectroscopy and imaging.With a solid track record spanning over four decades, JMR is known for introducing high-quality, breakthrough articles. These have been seminal to the current state-of-the-art achieved by NMR, ESR, MRI and NQR, and it is a tradition we aim to preserve and enlarge. Physics of Life Reviews is an international journal appearing quarterly, that publishes review articles on physics of living systems, complex phenomena in biological systems, and related fields of artificial life, robotics, mathematical bio-semiotics, and artificial intelligent systems. This journal is a unifying force, going across the barriers between disciplines, addressing all living systems from molecules to populations and from genetics to mind and artificial systems modeling these phenomena. The journal invites reviews from actively working researchers, which are broad in scope, critical, accessible to our wide readership and addresses sometimes controversial accounts of recent progress and problems.Physics of Life Reviews intends to keep the active researcher abreast of developments on a wide range of topics by publishing timely reviews, which are more than mere literature surveys but normally less than a full monograph.
