Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology publishes the results of studies concerning toxic and pharmacological effects of (human and veterinary) drugs and of environmental contaminants in animals and man.Areas of special interest are: molecular mechanisms of toxicity, biotransformation and toxicokinetics (including toxicokinetic modelling), molecular, biochemical and physiological mechanisms explaining differences in sensitivity between species and individuals, the characterisation of pathophysiological models and mechanisms involved in the development of effects and the identification of biological markers that can be used to study exposure and effects in man and animals.In addition to full length papers, short communications, full-length reviews and mini-reviews, Environmental Toxicology and Pharmacology will publish in depth assessments of special problem areas. The latter publications may exceed the length of a full length paper three to fourfold. A basic requirement is that the assessments are made under the auspices of international groups of leading experts in the fields concerned. The information examined may either consist of data that were already published, or of new data that were obtained within the framework of collaborative research programmes. Aims and Scope of the Journal Environmental and Experimental Botany:Environmental and Experimental Botany (EEB) publishes research papers on the physical, chemical, biological, molecular mechanisms and processes involved in the responses of plants to their environment.In addition to research papers, the journal includes review articles. Submission is in agreement with the Editors-in-Chief.The Journal also publishes special issues which are built by invited guest editors and are related to the main themes of EEB.The areas covered by the Journal include:(1) Responses of plants to heavy metals and pollutants(2) Plant/water interactions (salinity, drought, flooding)(3) Responses of plants to radiations ranging from UV-B to infrared(4) Plant/atmosphere relations (ozone, CO2 , temperature)(5) Global change impacts on plant ecophysiology(6) Biotic interactions involving environmental factors.Each submitted manuscript related to these areas should be preferably based on an explicitly elaborated mechanistic hypothesis. The purely descriptive and following types of manuscripts are not suitable for EEB: field monitoring surveys, pure mathematical modeling without experimentations, pure correlative works, applied papers on agriculture and phytopathology, studies of plant biology, gene expression and molecular works without considering environmental aspects. The research should be based on a clear hypothesis and provide new insights on plant responses to the environment, preferably providing evidence of new mechanisms underlying plant stress resistance. Ecological studies are also encouraged if they provide a sound basis of physiological processes involved in the plant response to the environment.

EMT does not accept papers dealing with mathematical modeling unless they report significant, new experimental data.

The journal will consider research at the field level for agricultural, horticultural and tree crops, that uses comprehensive and explanatory approaches. Confirmatory research and results routine cultivar or agronomy trials in which there are no identified biological processes will not normally be considered for publication. Modelling studies have to be informative and innovative and used to illustrate important generic issues facing agronomy. Studies in which a model is only tested against observed data for its goodness-of-fit are not generally welcome. Field experiments need to be either multi-locational or multi-year and normally three at least and be accompanied by appropriate statistical analysis. Glasshouse experiments are only accepted in exceptional circumstances. Review articles are normally written on invitation from the Editor-in-Chief. Authors intending to prepare review papers for the Journal are advised to consult the Editor-in-Chief before writing their reviews. Forthcoming special issues are focusing on uncertainty analysis in models and the status of non-renewable resources in agriculture.

Apart from the European Control Conferences, the European Journal of Control is the Association's main channel for the dissemination of important contributions in the field.The aim of the Journal is to publish high quality papers on the theory and practice of control and systems engineering.The scope of the Journal will be wide and cover all aspects of the discipline including methodologies, techniques and applications.Research in control and systems engineering is necessary to develop new concepts and tools which enhance our understanding and improve our ability to design and implement high performance control systems. Submitted papers should stress the practical motivations and relevance of their results.The design and implementation of a successful control system requires the use of a range of techniques:ModellingRobustness AnalysisIdentificationOptimizationControl Law DesignNumerical analysisFault Detection, and so on.Papers dealing with the interplay between such techniques will be particularly welcome.Applications papers which emphasize methodology used, implementation and commissioning issues are strongly encouraged.The Journal will also publish tutorial expositions and state-of-the-art reviews. Interested authors for this type of paper should first contact the Editor in Chief and submit an extended summary of approximately 2000 words.The European Journal of Control wishes to encourage (when appropriate) reviewers, editors and authors to participate in discussion sections at the end of published papers. There is no standard format for a discussion section, but its contents should serve to help the readership. For example, views could be expressed on the contribution of the paper in a particular area, its likely impact on industrial practice could be described, or directions for further work suggested. Whatever format the discussion takes, it will be concluded by the author(s). Invitations to participate in the discussion will only be sent out after the paper has been accepted, and all contributors will appear in the issues Table of Contents.

Although investigations in well-established areas are within the scope of the journal, recent developments and innovative ideas are particularly welcome. Theoretical, computational and experimental papers are equally welcome. Mathematical methods, be they deterministic or stochastic, analytical or numerical, will be accepted provided they serve to clarify some identifiable problems in fluid mechanics, and provided the significance of results is explained. Similarly, experimental papers must add physical insight in to the understanding of fluid mechanics.Fast Tracks in the European Journal of Mechanics B/Fluids is a venue for short papers with significant original results across the full range of fluid mechanics. Papers submitted as Fast Tracks will receive priority handling by a dedicated editor, to ensure accelerated publication, and will appear in a dedicated EJMB/Fluids section of each journal volume. EJMB/Fluids will strive for the editorial process of two months from submission to publication. Manuscripts submitted to Fast Tracks must maintain the same standard of rigor and quality required of all papers submitted to the Journal; thus, papers in the fast-track process are not intended for the publication of minor incremental or cursory results.The European Journal of Mechanics B/Fluids welcomes extended Comments to published articles, to facilitate evaluation of each paper by the community, to stimulate scientific discussions and possibly highlight paths of future research.
