  • Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science

    • ISSN: 0894-1777
International Journal of Experimental Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, and Fluid MechanicsExperimenta... Thermal and Fluid Science provides a forum for research emphasizing experimental work that enhances fundamental understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics. The journal covers research based on new experimental results or new experimental techniques pertaining to any of the three main research areas or their combination. In addition, the journal covers research in mass transfer, cryogenics, flows with phase transition, multiphase flows, combustion, flows in porous media, particle-laden flows, bioinspired flows, biomedical flows or heat transfer, microfluidics, and turbulence, provided a clear focus on enhancement of fundamental understanding based on experiments is present. Submissions focused on novel experimental techniques should include a robust validation of the results against established techniques or theoretical predictions.Full-len... articles, short communications, letters to the Editor, and discussions of previously published papers can feature in the journal.Reviews are by invitation only; however prospective authors are welcome to send review paper proposals to the Editors-in-Chief.The journal occasionally supplements regular issues with special and topical issues focused on the relevant research themes. Organizers of international conferences are invited to submit a proposal for a special issue.
  • The Journal of Supercritical Fluids

    • ISSN: 0896-8446
The Journal of Supercritical Fluids is an international journal devoted to the fundamental and applied aspects of supercritical fluids and processes. The Journal aims to provide a focused platform for academic and industrial researchers to report their findings and to have ready access to the advances in this rapidly growing field. Its coverage is multidisciplinary and includes both basic and applied topics. It publishes original contributions in all aspects of the science and technology of supercritical fluids, as well as timely review articles*. Submissions on novel research that bring insightful contributions regarding sustainability are particularly welcomed. The Journal publishes topics including: Thermodynamics and phase equilibria, transcritical phenomena, reaction kinetics and rate processes, thermal and transport properties, and all topics related to processing such as separations (extraction, fractionation, purification, particle generation, nucleation and growth, impregnation, chromatography). Accounts of specific engineering applications such as those encountered in natural products, food, nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals, medical devices and implants, (nano)materials, aerogels, minerals, fuels, chemicals and polymer industries.Novel research that brings insightful contributions regarding sustainability. Papers dealing with modern energy systems, energy conversion technologies, supercritical CO2 Brayton cycle, or with biomass utilization, waste remediation and advanced oxidation processes. Latest advances in process design, process intensification and waste minimization, or microfluidics in sub-critical or supercritical environments.High pressure equipment design, analytical techniques, sensors, novel instrumentation, new experimental methodologies and techniques, predictive procedures, process analytical technology (PAT) and process control methodologies, or life cycle assessment as related to systems under pressure. However, research reporting on experimental optimization of procedures, correlation of results with neural networks, statistical analyses or similar methods will only be considered when they provide substantial new insight into the theory and practice of supercritical fluids and are compared with present theoretical models or molecular-based simulations. The Journal does not accept submissions on studies containing methods or evaluations related to animal research.*Authors are requested to complete a Review Proposal Form for Editorial approval prior to submission of the review article. Proposals can be submitted to Professor Elisabeth Badens (elisabeth.badens@un...
  • Thermochimica Acta

    • ISSN: 0040-6031
An International Journal Concerned with All Aspects of Thermoanalytical and Calorimetric Methods and their Application to Experimental Chemistry, Physics, Biology and EngineeringThermochi... Acta publishes original research contributions covering all aspects of thermoanalytical and calorimetric methods and their application to experimental chemistry, physics, biology and engineering. The journal aims to span the whole range from fundamental research to practical application. The journal focuses on the research that advances physical and analytical science of thermal phenomena. Therefore, the manuscripts are expected to provide important insights into the thermal phenomena studied or to propose significant improvements of analytical or computational techniques employed in thermal studies. Manuscripts that report the results of routine thermal measurements are not suitable for publication in Thermochimica Acta. The journal particularly welcomes papers from newly emerging areas as well as from the traditional strength areas: - New and improved instrumentation and methods - Thermal properties and behavior of materials - Kinetics of thermally stimulated processesEach paper submitted for publication should clearly present: a) Scientific motivation (i.e., why this study is of interest); b) Relevance to the stated scope of Thermochimica Acta (i.e., why thermal methods play a crucial role in the study, or why this study is important for the use and development of thermal methods); c) General significance of the obtained results (i.e., how this study contributes to the advancement of knowledge in the general area of the study). Note that novelty of a study does not necessarily imply general significance of the results.Manuscripts reporting results of kinetic studies are expected to follow the ICTAC Kinetics Committee recommendations for collecting kinetic data (Thermochim. Acta 590 (2014) 1-23, and for performing kinetic computations (Thermochim. Acta 520 (2011) 1-19). The journal publishes regular full-length articles, short communications (either novel, unexpected theoretical or experimental results or short reports of collections of new data), and reviews (usually invited by an Editor, but proposals from authors are welcome).
