Neuroscience Letters is devoted to the rapid publication of high-quality articles of interest to the broad community of neuroscientists. Only articles which will make a significant addition to the literature in the field will be published.Manuscripts in all areas of neuroscience, including molecular, cellular, developmental, systems, behavioral, cognitive, and computational will be considered for publication. Neuroscience Letters does not publish Case Reports, Meta-analyses, or Literature Reviews in either the basic or clinical sciences.Special Issues, edited by Guest Editors to cover new and rapidly-moving areas, will include invited Mini-Reviews as well as related articles submitted in the regular manner. Standard Mini-Reviews are by invitation, or in response to the Editor-in-Chief's approval of a pre-submission enquiry.

Affiliated with the The Developmental Neurotoxicology Society, formerly known as The Neurobehavioral Teratology Society.Neurotoxicology and Teratology provides a forum for publishing new information regarding the effects of chemical and physical agents on the developing, adult, or aging nervous system. In this context, the fields of neurotoxicology and teratology include studies of agent-induced alterations of nervous system function, with a focus on behavioral outcomes and their underlying physiological, neurochemical, molecular, and immunological mechanisms. The Journal publishes original, peer-reviewed Research Reports of experimental, clinical, and epidemiological studies that address the neurotoxicity and/or functional teratology of pesticides, solvents, heavy metals, nanomaterials, organometals, industrial compounds, mixtures, drugs of abuse, pharmaceuticals, animal and plant toxins, atmospheric reaction products, and physical agents such as radiation and noise. These reports include traditional mammalian neurotoxicology experiments, human studies, studies using non-mammalian animal models, and mechanistic studies in vivo or in vitro. Special Issues, Reviews, Commentaries, and Symposium Papers provide timely updates on areas that have reached a critical point of synthesis, on aspects of a scientific field undergoing rapid change, or on areas that present special methodological or interpretive problems. Theoretical Articles address concepts and potential mechanisms underlying interactions of agents of interest with the nervous system. Short Communications concisely describe a new method, technique, apparatus, or experimental result.

Pattern Recognition is a mature but exciting and fast developing field, which underpins developments in cognate fields such as computer vision, image processing, text and document analysis and neural networks. It is closely akin to machine learning, and also finds applications in fast emerging areas such as biometrics, bioinformatics, multimedia data analysis and most recently data science. The journal Pattern Recognition was established some 50 years ago, as the field emerged in the early years of computer science. Over the intervening years it has expanded considerably.The journal accepts papers making original contributions to the theory, methodology and application of pattern recognition in any area, provided that the context of the work is both clearly explained and grounded in the pattern recognition literature. Papers whos primary concern falls outside the pattern recognition domain and which report routine applications of it using existing or well known methods, should be directed elsewhere. The publication policy is to publish (1) new original articles that have been appropriately reviewed by competent scientific people, (2) reviews of developments in the field, and (3) pedagogical papers covering specific areas of interest in pattern recognition. Various special issues will be organized from time to time on current topics of interest to Pattern Recognition. Physiology & Behavior is aimed at the causal physiological mechanisms of behavior and its modulation by environmental factors. The journal invites original reports in the broad area of behavioral and cognitive neuroscience, where the interaction of physiology and behavior is the prerequisite for all published material. The range of subjects includes behavioral neuroendocrinology, psychoneuroimmunology, learning and memory, ingestion, taste, social behavior, exercise (as it relates to behavior), studies related to the mechanisms of psychopathology and studies using animal models with the purpose of translating the findings to humans. Purely pharmacological studies (either using natural compounds or synthetic chemicals), studies on improving human performance beyond physiological adaptations, or studies on improving livestock production are not in the focus of the Journal.We also welcome contemporary reviews and theoretical articles, and the Editors invite such proposals from interested authors. The Official Publication of the International Society for Neuroimaging in Psychiatry Psychiatry Research: Neuroimaging, a companion title to Psychiatry Research, focuses on publications relating to imaging techniques. We publish manuscripts on magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography, multichannel electrophysiology, near-infrared spectroscopy, computed tomography, magnetoencephalography, non-invasive brain stimulation, autoradiography, post-mortem regional analyses, and other imaging techniques. Reports concerning results in neuropsychiatric disorders and psychopathology and the effects of behavioral tasks, neurobiological-, psychotherapy-, and pharmacological treatments are featured. We also invite manuscripts on the methods of obtaining images and computer processing of the images themselves. Reviews, meta-analysis and selected case reports are also published.

One of the main goals is to understand how a variety of psychobiological factors interact in the expression of the stress response as it relates to the development and/or maintenance of neuropsychiatric illnesses. The journal is international and comprises original research papers, reviews of an area of the literature, or at an appropriate stage in the development of the author's own work, commentaries in areas of current interest, short communications and book reviews.
