Este libro se ajusta a dichos programas en un 70 al 100 de los contenidos Las principales actualizaciones y modificaciones se producirán en los siguientes capítulos:Cap 10: Huesos maxilares: Actualizar de acuerdo a la clasificación de la OMS de 2017,Cap 11. El periodonto como unidad funcional: Actualizar a la clasificación de 2018 y reestructurar el capítulo para que sea más didáctico. Seguramente, lo realizará otro autor de reconocimiento internacional,Cap 15. Estudios complementarios: Incluir nuevas técnicas de diagnóstico que se han desarrollado en los últimos años.En sustitución del antiguo Cap 17, se incluirá el capítulo “Historia clínica en Odontopediatría”, que abordará las necesidades y consideraciones importantes de la historia clínica en niños que reciben atención odontológica, el cual escribe una autora especialista en Odontopediatría con amplia experiencia en el área. Este texto presenta un enfoque multidisciplinar y desde distintos puntos de vista de las patologías que afectan a la zona de la cabeza y cuello, considerándola como una sola región anatómica de alta complejidad tanto por sus estructuras como por su funcionamiento altamente especializado. Así, la obra incluye los elementos básicos del examen de esta región junto con los conceptos más especializados de las principales patologías que afectan a los órganos de la cabeza y cuello.
