The journal aspires to be an experiment in interdisciplinarity: we particularly welcome submissions that generate dialogue. This could take the form of collaborations across disciplines, or lead articles followed by responses coming from the same and/or from different disciplines. The journal is a space for exploring psychedelic medicine’s potential to be safe, effective, ethical and widely accessible. More broadly, it invites consideration of the many promises, possibilities, and problems entailed in the revival of psychedelic research today.
Example topics include but are not limited to:
Psychedelic clinical treatments for mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety, addiction, PTSD, etc.
The role of psychedelics beyond clinical contexts, including in health, wellbeing, and spiritual development
Side effects, limitations, and concerns related to the use of psychedelics
The nature of psychedelic (neuro)plasticity
Best practices and protocols in the use of psychedelics
The implications of psychedelic use for understanding healing and/or what it means to be (more-than-)human
Methodological critiques and innovations, including around clinical trial design and the kinds of methods psychedelic phenomenology inspire
The role that psychedelic experiences (can) play in understanding, analysis and critique
Evolving social, cultural and legal attitudes towards psychedelics
