European Research on Management and Business Economics (ERMBE) is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal published by the European Academy of Management and Business Economics (AEDEM). Originally founded in 1995 under the title Investigaciones Europeas de Dirección y Economía de la Empresa (IEDEE), the journal adopted its current name in 2016 to reflect its broader international scope and evolving academic mission.
ERMBE is indexed in Scopus and the Social Sciences Citation Index (Web of Science), and has been recognized since 2014 with the Certificate of Quality in Excellence awarded by FECYT (Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología). The journal has consistently maintained this distinction in all subsequent national evaluations of scientific and editorial quality.
From its inception, ERMBE has aimed to advance academic research by publishing original, rigorous, and impactful articles that meet high analytical standards and offer fresh insights into the field of business management. The journal covers a wide range of specialities within Business Economics, including accounting, business management, finance, human resource management, marketing, operations, organization theory, strategic management, etc.
ERMBE publishes three issues per year and serves a diverse audience of academics, researchers, professionals, executives, and policy makers, fostering thought-provoking debates and contributing to both conceptual innovation and practical relevance. Its mission is to bridge scholarly excellence with real-world application, promoting research that matters for theory, practice, and society.
Authors are required to pay an Article Publishing Charge (APC), retain the copyright of their published work, and are offered a single user license option. The APC is payable by the author, their institution, or funding body, and will be requested only after peer review and formal acceptance. This fee applies to all accepted articles. The APC is 1,215 USD for AEDEM members and 1,350 USD for non-members, excluding applicable taxes. Further details are available on the journal’s open access page.
