Women’s Health Issues (WHI) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal devoted to advancing rigorous research, policy analysis, and perspectives that improve the health, health care, and wellbeing of all women and gender-diverse individuals across the lifespan. As the official journal of the Jacobs Institute of Women’s Health, WHI prioritizes scholarship that addresses the social, structural, and political determinants of health; engages with affected communities; advances health equity; or examines the impact of evolving health policies and practices. WHI has a particular focus on translating evidence into actionable health policies that promote accountability, equity, and high-quality care.
The journal publishes original research and commentaries that illuminate timely issues in women’s health, including (but not limited to) reproductive health, chronic disease, mental health, aging, digital health innovations, and the implications of health system transformation. WHI seeks to inform health services researchers, public health practitioners, policymakers, clinicians, journalists, and the general public by bridging evidence with policy and practice to advance equitable and person-centered care within the U.S. health care system and beyond.
