Water Resources and Industry is an open-access journal that moves research to innovation by focusing on the challenges water-intensive industries are facing in the utilisation, management and treatment of water resources.
Industries, such as the mining, manufacturing and energy sectors, use a portfolio of water resources in their production processes, while they generate, treat and dispose a wide variety of used water qualities. Depending on the location of the production facilities, the impact on the local water resources will vary and needs to be considered in catchment-scale water management.
The aims and scope of the journal include:
Industrial water footprint assessment - tools, methodologies and applications
Strengthening good corporate water stewardship including stakeholder collaboration and engagement
Evaluation of water-related risks in terms of quantity and quality related challenges (e.g. impacts of climate on water availability and relevance of emerging pollutants)
New technologies for treatment, monitoring and control enabling companies to better manage water resources
New digital solutions for data management in industrial water systems
Advancing the water-energy nexus in industrial operations
Industrial wastewater treatment and discharge as well as impact on natural water resources
The other specialist title in the series is Water Resources and Economics, which addresses the financial and economic dimensions associated with water resources use and governance.
