An interdisciplinary journal on the interactions between agroecosystems and the environment Agriculture, Ecosystems & Environment is a leading interdisciplinary forum that publishes research investigating all aspects of agroecological science. Our objective is to advance understanding of the patterns and processes governing agroecosystem functions, interactions with the environment and provision of ecosystem services. A central theme is how agriculture influences the environment and how changes in that environment impact agroecosystems. Agriculture, Ecosystems & Environment publishes novel, high impact research conducted at various spatial scales - from experimental plots and field trials to farm-, agroecosystem- and landscape-level investigations - with preference given to hypothesis-based and/or data-rich investigations. We particularly encourage broadly significant studies of agroecosystems that deal with cross-scale interactions, bridge scientific disciplines or integrate new knowledge and perspectives relevant to agroecosystem management or agri-environmental policies.Agriculture, Ecosystems & Environment rarely publishes papers focused on the management of a specific agricultural system in a particular environmental setting unless the research produces new and compelling findings; therefore, submissions should be placed in an international and/or widely comparative context. All manuscripts are initially screened on their topic suitability. AGEE's core subject-matter fields/topics include (but are not limited to): • Mechanisms governing bio-physical features and functioning of agroecosystems (e.g., the biogeochemistry, ecology, and sustainability of agricultural systems) • The interplay between agroecosystems and the environment (soil, air, and water) and the role of ecological processes in provision of ecosystem services • Agroecosystems and their role in catalyzing/mitigating global change (climate change, greenhouse gases and biodiversity loss) • Ecological consequences of land use intensification and other human impacts (soil degradation and erosion, water and waste management, and associated mitigation approaches) • Environmental implications of agricultural land use and land use change (biodiversity conservation and land management, and ecological restoration and stewardship) The following topics are discouraged unless they provide new information that complements AGEE's core subject-matter areas: • Inventory and survey analysis (including life cycle and energy analysis) • Impact assessment and environmental/compliance monitoring investigations • Exclusively greenhouse- or laboratory-based studies • Studies on the development of models or methodologies and pure model applications • Studies that are purely agronomic, socio-economic, or political

Biomass, Biofuels and Bioproducts Algal Research is an international phycology journal covering all areas of emerging technologies in algae biology, biomass production, cultivation, harvesting, extraction, bioproducts, biorefinery, engineering, and econometrics. Algae is defined to include cyanobacteria, microalgae, macroalgae, and protists and symbionts of interest in biotechnology. The journal publishes original research and reviews for the following scope: algal biology, including but not exclusive to: phylogeny, biodiversity, molecular traits, metabolic regulation, and genetic engineering, algal cultivation, e.g. phototrophic systems, heterotrophic systems, and mixotrophic systems, algal harvesting and extraction systems, biotechnology to convert algal biomass and components into biofuels and bioproducts, e.g., nutraceuticals, pharmaceuticals, animal feed, plastics, etc. algal products and their economic assessment Papers in the latter topics should include characterization and analysis in support of such processes and technologies, for example:approaches to biorefinery and biomass characterization, sustainability assessments and analyses, such as techno-economic, life cycle, and resource assessments of systems and processes using algae as a main source of biomass. The journal will not consider manuscripts where the core concept is the experimental design (RSM, CCD or other) in the opitmization of a process, or the biological activity of algae extracts without full characterization and identification of the compounds responsible for the bioactivity. The Official Journal of the Anaerobe Society of the Americas and the Japanese Association for Anaerobic Infection Research Anaerobe is essential reading for those who wish to remain at the forefront of discoveries relating to life processes of strictly anaerobes. The journal is multi-disciplinary, and provides a unique forum for those investigating strictly anaerobic organisms that cause infections in humans and animals, as well as anaerobes that play roles in microbiomes or environmental processes. Anaerobe will consider manuscripts on anaerobic bacteria, archaea, fungi, protists as well as bacteriophages of anaerobes. Relevant topics fall into the broad categories of: Anaerobes in human and animal diseases Anaerobes in the microbiome Anaerobes in the environment Anaerobes in industrial processes (including biofuels and waste management) Microbial ecology of anaerobes Clinical microbiology involving anaerobes Pathogenesis of anaerobic organisms (including their toxins) Molecular biology and genetics of anaerobes Taxonomy of anaerobes Physiology of anaerobes Papers describing innovative methodologies, technologies and applications to investigate anaerobic microorganisms are also of interest. Manuscripts describing novel species of obligate anaerobes will be reviewed, if the description of the new species also includes information showing novel phenotypic characteristics, pathogenicity and/or unique metabolic activity within the microbiome from which it was isolated. Manuscripts describing novel anaerobic species that are only different from other related members of a genus based on genotype will not be reviewed. Reviews and minireviewsReviews are typically 7,000 words in length including relevant tables and/or figures. Mini-reviews are typically restricted to 2,500 words in length. *New from March 1st 2023: Anaerobe no longer accepts unsolicited reviews and standalone mini-reviews. Proposals for reviews and mini-reviews within the topics mentioned above are welcome for consideration by the journal. Case reportsPresentation of a short report on a significant clinical observation, preceded by a minireview (up to 2500 words) of the literature describing the background of similar cases/infections, what is known about the associated microbe, and other clinically relevant information. *New from March 2023: Case Reports will only be considered in this new format. Commentaries Occasionally, Anaerobe will consider publication of commentaries on important new work in the field. Such commentaries will be invited by the editors-in-chief. Suggestions for commentaries may be emailed to an Editor-in-Chief. Unsolicited commentaries will not be considered. Please note: 1. Anaerobe does not accept manuscripts on descriptive, sequence-based surveys of microbiomes, even if the environments of the sampled ecosystems select for anaerobic species. However, when studies such as these are accompanied by direct, mechanistic assays of strictly anaerobic components, they will be considered for publication. 2. Anaerobe will not consider manuscripts that deal only with descriptive accounts of the beneficial effects of potentially novel probiotic strains, unless such strains belong to strictly anaerobic species that have previously not been associated with probiotic features. Anaerobe will continue to consider manuscripts for publication that address determinations of the specific mechanism(s) of action of anaerobic probiotic strains.

This journal will be closed after December 31, 2023. Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts to Gene Reports or Gene. Animal Gene is a companion title to Gene and a member of the Gene Family. Animal Gene publishes papers that focus on the regulation, expression, function and evolution of genes in animals. Animal Gene strives to be a diverse journal and topics in multiple fields will be considered for publication so long as their main focus is on animals, such as but not limited to cattle, pig, sheep, goat, chicken, fish, mollusks, crustaceans, insects, or microorganisms. Potential topics include: Genetic discovery and characterization. Genetic markers to guide traditional breeding. Genetic effects of transposable elements. Evolutionary genetics, molecular evolution, population genetics, and phylogenetics. Profiling of gene expression and genetic variation. Biotechnology and livestock improvement. Genetic improvement of biological control microorganisms. Genetic control of secondary metabolic pathways and metabolic enzymes of animal pathogens. Animal Gene encourages submission of novel manuscripts that present a reasonable level of analysis, functional relevance and/or mechanistic insight. Animal Gene also welcomes papers that have predominantly a descriptive component but improve the essential basis of knowledge for subsequent functional studies, or which provide important confirmation of recently published discoveries provided that the information is new. Animal Nutrition encompasses the full gamut of animal nutritional sciences and reviews including, but not limited to, fundamental aspects of animal nutrition such as nutritional requirements, metabolic studies, body composition, energetics, immunology, neuroscience, microbiology, genetics and molecular and cell biology related to primarily to the nutrition of farm animals and aquatic species. More applied aspects of animal nutrition, such as the evaluation of novel ingredients, feed additives and feed safety will also be considered but it is expected that such studies will have a strong nutritional focus. Animal Reproduction Science publishes results from studies relating to reproduction and fertility in animals. Animal Reproduction Science aims to publish fundamental research and applied studies, including management practices that increase our understanding of the biology and manipulation of reproduction. It publishes articles on animals that are useful to humans including food and fibre-producing. Submissions on reproduction in aquatic animals are particularly welcomed. Manuscripts that include in vitro spermatozoa, oocyte, and embryo development are welcome, but the work must include research that goes beyond the general assessment of viability, quality, and in vitro development. The journal publishes topics including: companion/recreational; captive; and endangered species including zoo animals reproductive physiology and endocrinology study of reproductive physiology and endocrinology reproductive cycles natural and artificial control of reproduction preservation and use of gametes and embryos pregnancy and parturition infertility and sterility, diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. Animal Reproduction Science does not accept submissions on reproduction in insects or laboratory animals unless the results of the study provide new information that impacts the basic understanding of the biology or manipulation of reproduction. We do not accept manuscripts concluding that any improved performance of gametes embryos or gametes in an in vitro environment will improve pregnancy outcomes without providing in vivo data to support the conclusion. Authors with any concerns are encouraged to contact the Editor-in-Chief to enquire about the suitability of the content of their paper for submission. The Editorial Board of Animal Reproduction Science has decided not to publish papers in which there is an exclusive examination of the in vitro development of oocytes and embryos; however, there will be consideration of papers that include in vitro studies where the source of the oocytes and/or development of the embryos beyond the blastocyst stage is part of the experimental design.
