Together, the JVS Journals aim to be the premier international forum for the curation and dissemination of research related to the medical, endovascular, and surgical care of patients with vascular disease. JVS-Vascular Insights specifically has two primary aims. First, the Journal aims to provide a home for research that has typically been underrepresented in the vascular surgery literature, including work related to vascular surgery education, career development, the business and economic dimensions of vascular surgery care and practice, qualitative research, and early-stage or hypothesis-generating work (e.g., trial protocols, pilot studies, emerging data). Second, JVS-Vascular Insights seeks to provide a trusted venue for the dissemination of scientifically rigorous work from across the spectrum of vascular surgery research, from bench to bedside, that contributes to the validation, expansion, or thickening of the evidence base on which progress in our specialty depends. While such incremental contributions may not reach priority for publication in the flagship Journal of Vascular Surgery or one of our specialized companion journals (Journal of Vascular Surgery: Venous and Lymphatic Disorders, Journal of Vascular Surgery Cases, Innovations and Techniques, or JVS-Vascular Science), which place a premium on novelty and potential impact, they nonetheless represent genuine contributions to the scientific record in our field. JVS-Vascular Insights aims to make publication of this work possible, with the ultimate goal of supporting evidence-based clinical practice and improving patient care.
