Sponsored by Shanghai General Hospital and Shanghai Institute of Medical Quality, Journal of Hospital Total Quality Management (JHTQM) is supported by Medical Administration Department of China National Health and Family Planning Commission, China Hospital Association, Shanghai Hospital Development Centre, Melbourne Health Australia, NICE UK and Mayo Clinic USA. JHTQM is an open access, peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to championing excellence in hospital total quality management study design, including quality measurement, quality assurance, quality control, patient safety, patient-centered experience, data analysis and reporting. It will focus on the application of clinical quality measurement methodologies to all areas of hospital total quality management. The journal has two main aims:
to provide a forum for discussion and recommendation of guidelines designed to improve the accuracy of clinical quality measurement, its data analysis and the consistency of its subsequent data reporting;
to publish hospital total quality management based studies that adhere to best practice guidelines, both current and future.
JHTQM is established by a group of scientists most of whom are clinical professors and hospital administrators. The deliberately broad scope of the journal covers clinical areas as well nonclinical subjects including patient-centered experience, data analysis and management science. JHTQM revolves around the common theme of promoting excellence in quality measurement and its data analysis. It will serve as a repository for sharing key findings across what may otherwise be disparate specialties.
JHTQM is distinguished by its highly respected founding editors and hospital total quality management pioneers Dr. Gareth GOODIER and Prof. Xingpeng WANG.
JHTQM has an international editorial team comprised of experienced researchers with broad expert interests in hospital total quality management.
JHTQM is published quarterly and includes:

editorials & comments
case report & conference report
points of view & perspective articles
In conjunction to scientific meetings in the field special extra issues can be released.
All submitted manuscripts must present original contributions and contain no data that have been published elsewhere. Please note that JHTQM operates with a single-blind peer review policy.
The journal aims at an international audience and we particularly welcome submissions from younger scholars and researchers, and authors from developing countries.
