An international open access journal dedicated to disseminating scientifically robust research and case reports across the forensic sciences.
Preferred journal of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD).

Forensic Science International: Reports is a gold open access journal which fosters information and knowledge exchange through the dissemination of foundational science, case reports, mini reviews, population data, and informed opinion across all disciplines within the forensic sciences. The journal also welcomes the reporting of negative results and validation studies.

Published content that consolidates existing knowledge through documented testing and peer review serves as a valuable benchmark standard for good practice. The continued advancement of forensic science hinges upon rigorous testing of methods, ethical integrity in reporting, and equity and collaboration across the boundaries of discipline or geography. Our aim is to rapidly disseminate quality reports whilst adhering to these principles which we strongly believe are paramount to forensic science and its critical role in criminal justice and wider society.

As such, FSI: Reports differs from the rest of the Forensic Science International family through its editorial ethos of diversity and foundational science. This approach is predicated on disseminating original articles and case reports that conform to accepted ethical and scientific standards, with a particular focus on emerging regions and disciplines currently underrepresented in the existing literature. The journal publishes papers relating to the forensic implications of issues affecting humans, animals, wildlife, and the wider environment. Within the FSI portfolio, FSI: Reports offers the forensics community a fast, flexible, and open route for publication.

Forensic Science International: Reports adheres to strict ethical publication guidelines and actively supports a culture of inclusive and representative publication. For any submission enquiries, please contact the respective Section Editor.
