EJVES Vascular Forum (EJVES VF) is an online only, open access resource aimed at vascular surgeons and other physicians dealing with patients with arterial, venous and lymphatic diseases. The main focus of the journal is to provide an inclusive multimedia platform for education, dissemination of scientific contents, discussion and opinion formation.
EJVES Vascular Forum belongs to the European Society For Vascular Surgery (ESVS), which was founded on May 6, 1987 "to relieve sickness and to preserve and protect health by advancing for the public benefit the science and art and research into vascular disease including vascular surgery". The ESVS owns two journals, EJVES (European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery) and EJVES VF. Both interact closely and have complementary scopes and goals.
Whereas EJVES is the main scientific outlet of the ESVS aiming at the best possible Impact Factor (IF), EJVES VF is dedicated to delivering and promoting education and practical knowledge to the community by refining scientific and educational contents related to the ESVS (including the ESVS Annual Meeting, ESVS Academy, ESVS Masterclasses, ESVS Virtual Vascular, and more). It is PubMed listed and will generate its own IF, but its main goal is the dissemination of its contents as measured by downloads, views, clicks, social media references, etc.
Contributions are encouraged on the diagnosis, investigation and management of vascular disorders, including scientific research and practical technical aspects of open vascular and endovascular procedures. The journal includes invited state-of-the-art articles and podcasts and provides critical appraisal articles of previously published research. Contributions are also welcome from associated specialities such as cardiovascular surgery, radiology, angiology, diabetology, rehabilitation and other fundamental sciences, provided these relate to the management of vascular patients.
The journal publishes case reports, technical reports, position papers, original research, abstracts from Annual Meetings, visual and/or extended abstracts from seminal publications in the field, literature reviews, but also podcasts and videos. Authors are encouraged to submit cases and supplementary materials in video format. In addition, it engages in social media interactions with the community on behalf of ESVS and EJVES, including interactive pdfs of the published papers, guided discussion forums, promotional tweets and rapid response platforms.
