It is a companion to the highly regarded review journal Current Opinion in Immunology and is part of the Current Opinion and Research (CO+RE) suite of journals. All CO+RE journals leverage the Current Opinion legacy-of editorial excellence, high-impact, and global reach-to ensure they are a widely read resource that is integral to scientists' workflow.

Current Research in Immunology topics covered include (but are not restricted to):

Infection, autoimmunity, transplantation, immunodeficiencies, inflammation and tumor immunology.

Mechanisms of induction, regulation and termination of innate and adaptive immunity.

Development of the immune system.

Intercellular communication, cooperation and regulation.

Cell trafficking and dynamics.

Intracellular mechanisms of immunity (endocytosis, protein trafficking, pathogen recognition, antigen presentation, inflammasome activation, etc).

Effector mechanisms of the cells and molecules of the immune system.

Structural analysis.

"Omics" studies and bioinformatics.

Vaccines, biotechnology and therapeutic manipulation of the immune system(therapeutic antibodies, cytokines, cellular therapies, etc).

Virology and viral immunology.

Studies on the human immune system as well as other model species (mice, rats, etc) are welcome.

Topics which may be considered for the journal only if the following requirements are met:

Studies that describe correlations between disease and genetic polymorphisms and include novel mechanistic findings underlying the associations

Clinical or veterinary studies correlating disease and measurements of a molecule, cell type or other diagnostic markers and give novel mechanistic insights.

Studies describing pharmacological agents and provide significant novelty on the mechanisms of action or immunological pathway targeted by the agent.

Current Research in Immunology builds on Elsevier's reputation for excellence in scientific publishing and long-standing commitment to communicating reproducible biomedical research targeted at improving human health.
