With a central purpose to support and accelerate Sustainable Development Goal 6, "Clean water and sanitation", Cleaner Water focuses on all aspects of cutting-edge technology, theories, societal issues, and policies that advance the sustainable supply of clean water. The pursued "cleaner approach" involves all the water matrices i.e. potable water, domestic and industrial wastewater, stormwater, freshwater and groundwater with the inspiring principle of considering water a precious resource to save and protect, whose reuse must be encouraged as much as possible.
The journal provides a platform for publishing high-quality interdisciplinary papers aimed to promote a sustainable water use through fundamental and applied research, innovative technologies, and best management practices. This challenging objective includes the contributions of theoretical insights by scientists as well as case-studies from practitioners focused on the development and optimization of engineered treatment, management, and supply strategies.
