Rui Damázio Alvites
Dr. Rui Damasio Alvites, a researcher at the University of Porto's Institute of Sciences, Technologies, and Agroenvironment, excels in Regenerative Medicine and Veterinary Sciences. He obtained his PhD in Veterinary Sciences from the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences, University of Porto, in 2021, preceded by a Master's in Veterinary Medicine in 2015. He serves as a Junior member of the European Society for the Study of Peripheral Nerve Repair and Regeneration Board and is an External Collaborator at the Abel Salazar Institute. Additionally, he's a Professor at Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Politécnico e Universitário. His research primarily focuses on regenerative therapies for Peripheral Nerve regeneration, utilizing mesenchymal stem cells and biomaterials, aligned with a One Health perspective. Dr. Alvites has participated in numerous research projects from 2017 to 2023 and has been honored with multiple awards for his outstanding contributions. His expertise spans Veterinary Medicine, Regenerative Medicine, Olfaction, Stem Cells, Peripheral Nerve Injury, and Biomaterials, making him a distinguished figure in the field.
