Surajit Mandal
Dr. Surajit Mandal is currently working as Professor at Department of Dairy Microbiology, Faculty of Dairy Technology, West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences, Kolkata. Before joining the university, he has served as Scientist (Dairy Microbiology) at ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, Haryana, SMC College of Dairy Sciences, Anand, Gujarat. He is associate fellow of National Academy of Dairy Sciences (India). Dr. Mandal visited the Riddet Institute, Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand under Indo-New Zealand collaborative research project. He has more than 15-year experiences of teaching, research and extension activities. Dr. Mandal has been working in the area of lactic starter cultures, microencapsulation of probiotic, technology of functional lactic cultures for fermented and non-fermented dairy application, bioactive milk peptides, etc. He has published over 80 research papers/ reviews/ book chapters/ technical articles in journals/ books of national and international repute. He has edited one book and published 10 teaching and training manuals.
