Sibele Nascimento
Dr. Sibele Nascimento is a mining engineer, with specialization in georesources and extensive experience in mine wastes characterization. For her PhD, she characterized the Queen and the King River system to evaluate the environmental impacts of one of the worst cases of acid mine drainage in Australia and to assess the economic potential for the tailings stored in the King River delta. Previously, she concluded a master’s degree in the EIT labelled Emerald master’s in resources engineering in Europe, with a robust background in mineral characterization, geochemistry, mineral processing, geometallurgy and circular economy. Currently, Sibele works for the University of Queensland and does mineralogical and geochemical characterization of mine wastes across Australia.
