Dean and Director of Studies and Research from 1997 to 2009 at the Dental School, University of Chieti-Pescara (Italy). 2003-2005 he was President of the Italian Society of Osseointegration (S.I.O.). Membership: Academy of Osseointegration (AO), Board of the Journal of Oral Pathology and Medicine (1993-1999), Board of the journal of Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research (2002-present ). Prof. Piattelli has coauthored more than 600 papers in international peer-reviewed Journals. Primary research interests have been immediate loading, bone response to different biomaterials and to human implants
