Le Zhang
Dr. Le Zhang is currently a Research Fellow in Energy and Environmental Sustainability for Megacities (E2S2) Programme at National University of Singapore in Singapore. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from National University of Singapore. He has more than 8 years of related research experience in biomass energy engineering and waste management. His research involves enhanced anaerobic digestion of organic wastes (e.g. food waste, horticultural waste, animal manure, excess sludge, and algal residues) for biofuel and biochemicals production, optimization of various anaerobic digesters with organic wastes, and bioinformatic analysis of microbial community structures. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers and 3 authorized patents in the fields of bioenergy and waste management. His works have been published in Bioresource Technology, Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews, Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Hazardous Materials, Journal of Cleaner Production, Energy Conversion and Management, and Waste Management, etc. Some of his works were selected as “Editor’s Choice Paper”, “Most Downloaded Paper” and “Highly Cited Paper”. Dr. Zhang is the recipient of Best Lab Demonstrator in Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at NUS (2019), Shanghai Excellent Graduates (2015), Chinese National Scholarship for Graduate Students (2014) and an industrial award from Suzhou Industrial Park (2014). He has conducted academic exchanges in more than 10 international conferences held in Spain, Greece, and Singapore, etc. He is also a Conference Organizing Committee Member in Japan (Tokyo)-SCON World Convention on Waste Recycling and Reuse, a member of Singapore BioEnergy Association, and a manuscript reviewer for over 15 international journals.

Yen Wah Tong
Prof. Yen Wah Tong is working in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at NUS since 2001, with research in biomimicry of living systems for medical and environmental applications. Since 2012, he has been the co-program Director of E2S2-CREATE, a major international research program with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, funded by the National Research Foundation, studying waste management in megacities. Prof Tong has published 285 papers in different National and International Journals and Books on various aspects of biofuel and microbiology covering her interests.

Jingxin Zhang
Dr. Jingxin Zhang is currently associate professor in China-UK Low Carbon College at Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China. He obtained his PhD degree in Environmental Engineering from Dalian University of Technology in 2013. From 2014 to 2018, he has been a research fellow at Environmental Research Institute in National University of Singapore, studying anaerobic digestion of food waste. His research interest involves anaerobic digestion, waste-to-energy systems, waste-to-resource technologies, food waste management, and industrial wastewater treatment and pollution control. He has presided over the Research and Development of the National Key Project, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and Shanghai Science and Technology Talent Planning. Dr. Zhang has participated in several international scientific and technological cooperation projects to carry out cooperative research with domestic and foreign enterprises such as Institute of Urban Environment of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Enlightenment Environmental Technology Development Co., LTD., E2S2 Systems Co., LTD., Singapore CBE Eco-Solutions Co., LTD., National Engineering Center for Nanotechnology and Application. Dr. Zhang has over 40 peer-reviewed papers with h index of 23 and >1337 citations (Goggle scholar) and 4 patents in the field of anaerobic digestion for biofuel and biochemicals production. In the past 6 years, he joined in the CREATE Program, an international cooperation program between SJTU and National University of Singapore and studied decentralized waste-to-energy technologies and energy systems to handle food waste and other organic wastes. He has built an operational mobile food waste treatment system based on anaerobic digestion. Based on this program, he has been designated as the Co-PI of ES-1 in CREATE program to develop novel AD technologies and systems. He has been selected into Shanghai Pujiang Talent Plan in 2019 and Liaoning Province's Excellent Doctoral dissertation (2016).

Ashok Pandey
Professor Ashok Pandey is currently Distinguished Scientist at the Centre for Innovation and Translational Research, CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research, Lucknow, India and Executive Director (Honorary) at the Centre for Energy and Environmental Sustainability – India. Formerly, he was Eminent Scientist at the Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing, Mohali and Chief Scientist & Head of Biotechnology Division and Centre for Biofuels at CSIR’s National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology, Trivandrum. His major research and technological development interests are industrial & environmental biotechnology and energy biosciences, focusing on biomass to biofuels & chemicals, waste to wealth & energy, industrial enzymes, etc. Professor Pandey is Adjunct/Visiting Professor/Scientist in universities in France, Brazil, Canada, China, Korea, South Africa, and Switzerland and also in several universities several in India. He has ~1400 publications/communications, which include 16 patents, 87 books, >700 papers and book chapters, etc with h index of 102 and ~46,300 citations (Goggle scholar). He has transferred several technologies to industries and has done industrial consultancy for about a dozen projects for Indian/international industries.
