The number of practitioners working in applied behavior analysis (ABA) has rapidly increased over the last several decades. Much of this is likely attributable to successfully applying ABA to support the needs of individuals with autism spectrum disorder/autistic individuals. However, as many researchers and practitioners repeatedly demonstrate, the power and potential of ABA extends to nearly any area of social significance. Applied Behavior Analysis for Business and Technology Applications provides 10 chapters written by current experts who apply ABA to various industries spanning business, technology, sports and physical fitness, and large-scale interventions. Specifically, this volume covers organizational behavior management, behavioral safety, sports and physical fitness, public health, social responsibility and sustainability, social work, generative artificial intelligence, data science, user experience, and cybersecurity. In each chapter, the authors describe how basic behavioral principles are relevant, what work in that area involves, and—most importantly—the skill set and training needed to work in that area successfully. This volume is particularly useful for behavior analysts who seek to apply their behavior analytic skillset to business, technology, sports, and large-scale interventions.
• Reviews how the basic behavior processes are relevant to each domain
• Demonstrates how ABA contributes to various business processes, such as performance management and safety
• Demonstrates how ABA can change behavior in less traditionally discussed areas such as sports, physical fitness, and social work
• Demonstrates how ABA can be used for large-scale interventions and behavior change in public health, social responsibility, and sustainability
• Demonstrates how ABA can inform and improve user experience, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and data science
• Each chapter includes a detailed outline of the skills, knowledge, and experiences necessary to enter each field, in addition to foundational training in behavior analysis
