Huahong Shi
Huahong Shi got his PhD degree in Jinan University, China in 2003. Now he is a full time professor of environmental sciences at East China Normal University. He is an Associate Editor of Marine Pollution Bulletin (2020-now) and an editorial board member of Journal of Hazardous Materials. He is interested in studying microplastic pollution in aquatic environments and endocrine disrupting chemicals in aquatic organisms. In recent 8 years, Huahong is focusing on microplastic and nanoplastic pollution including analytical methods, fate, toxicological effects and risks to human health. He has published more than 150 peer-reviewed papers (about 120 in English and 30 in Chinese), including 80 papers on microplastic and nanoplastic research. He was recognized as the Highly Cited Researchers (HCR) in 2020 and 2021.

Chengjun Sun
Chengjun Sun got her PhD degree from University of California Santa Barbara, USA, in 2001. She is currently a senior research scientist in the Bioresource and Environment Research Center at the First Institute of Oceanography, Ministry of Natural Resources, China. She serves as an Associate Editor for Marine Pollution Bulletin and an editorial board member of Journal of Marine Science and Engineering. Dr. Sun’s research interest is in marine environment, deep sea environment and marine biomaterial. For the past 6 years, her group has worked on microplastic pollution investigation in coastal waters, open oceans and the polar regions with a focus on microplastic sampling and identification methods in different media, including seawater, sediment, biota and air, with the goal of understanding the microplastic pollution level in the world oceans and assessing their potential impact. So far, she has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, including 20 papers on microplastic.
