Applied Animal Science (AAS, formerly known as The Professional Animal Scientist) is a peer-reviewed, Gold open access scientific journal and the official publication of the American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists (ARPAS). ARPAS provides certification of professional status for qualified members of the registry, strengthens animal sciences among the professions, and promotes animal sciences and the work of animal scientists. Continual education is required of all certified professionals to keep abreast of rapidly changing technology and discovery in their fields. In continuous publication since 1985, the journal is a leading outlet for animal science research. The journal welcomes novel manuscripts as original research, reviews, short communications, and technical notes about use or application of research-based information in the animal sciences, animal industries, and agricultural production systems. AAS is indexed in CABI and AGRICOLA and caters to a wide and comprehensive audience. Our readers are typically university, extension, animal industries, and government employees; members of professional societies and related organizations; producers, commodity organizations, and related feed and foods industries; researchers and students; and consultants and companies providing products and services in animal agriculture. Areas of particular interest include: Forages and feed science, management and production, physiology and reproduction, welfare and behavior, health, genetics, food science (meats and dairy foods), nutrition, extension and teaching, and sustainability and integrated systems, Dairy and beef cattle, swine, poultry, horses, sheep, goats, or other species that serve mankind, Animal and farm management related to disease control and prevention, animal well-being, microbiology, agricultural economics, and environmental opportunities or challenges.

Applied Food Research

  • ISSN: 2772-5022
Applied Food Research is an open access scholarly journal devoted to scientific and technological applications of food science and engineering. Applied Food Research complements Elsevier food science Journals such as Food Research International, LWT and Journal of Food Engineering by offering a broader and more inclusive reach to cater for the increased spread of research interests. The Journal will focus on application-oriented works in food manufacturing and engineering and production optimization. Studies on regional products and associated review papers are of interest, as well as reporting food property data using routine procedures. This includes applications in all areas of food and process engineering for food manufacturing, including but not limited to: Novel and emerging food processing, hurdle and minimal processing, thermal processing, extrusion, value addition, dehydration, separations technology, refrigerated and frozen foods, electro-technologies, irradiation, packaging, etc. and related technology development concepts Use of conventional and innovative extraction approaches to recover high-added value compounds (i.e nutrients and bioactives) to be used as food additives, nutraceuticals (alone or combined). Formulation of new products using optimization strategies for better organoleptic properties, nutritional qualities, environmental impact, shelf life etc. Mathematical and statistical methods for modeling and analyzing a process such as Response Surface Methodology, Artificial Neural Networks, etc. Applications in non-conventional technology areas The Journal publishes research articles, review type articles, short communications, commentaries, as well as case studies. Case studies are "microarticles" focused on specific technologies/techniques and/or targeted food matrices as short communication (no more than 6000 words) and with a relevant industrial application.

  • 5 Year impact factor: 3.8
  • Impact factor: 3.4
Journal of the International Association of GeoChemistry Established in 1986, Applied Geochemistry is an impactful international journal aims to offer a dynamic venue for the global geochemical community to present and share original research, critical reviews, perspective and viewpoints, which have some practical applications or implications to human endeavour and wellbeing. The journal strives to publish rigorous and robust papers for a multidisciplinary and diverse audience of scientists, practitioners, policy makers in the broad environmental geoscience community. Applied Geochemistry facilitated the diffusion of numerous scientifically-novel, policy-changing and thought-leading knowledges in the field. Applied Geochemistry is the official journal of the International Association of GeoChemistry (IAGC). Applied Geochemistry embrace the global community of geochemical researchers who play the roles as our authors, reviewers, editors and readers. Papers on applications of inorganic, organic and isotope geochemistry and geochemical processes are therefore welcome provided they meet the main criterion. Spatial and temporal monitoring case studies are only of interest to our international readership if they present new ideas of broad application. Theoretical and fundamental studies applying geochemical methodologies are also welcome provided they have a well-justified application aspect. Themes covered include: Environmental Geochemistry and Biogeochemical Cycling Hydrogeochemistry and Hydrogeology Contaminants Processes, Impacts and Remediation Geochemical Dynamics across Air-Water-Soil Interfaces Medical Geochemistry and Health Geochemistry in Environmental Disasters and Sustainability Mineral and Energy Resources Exploration and Recovery This journal welcomes contributions that support and advance the UN's sustainable development goals, in particular SDG 3 (Good health and well - being), SDG 6 (Clear water and sanitation) and SDG 13, (Climate Action)

Aquacultural Engineering

  • ISSN: 0144-8609
  • 5 Year impact factor: 3.8
  • Impact factor: 4
Official journal of the Aquacultural Engineering Society (AES) Aquacultural Engineering is concerned with the design and development of effective aquacultural systems for marine and freshwater facilities. The journal aims to apply the knowledge gained from basic research which potentially can be translated into commercial operations. Problems of scale-up and application of research data involve many parameters, both physical and biological, making it difficult to anticipate the interaction between the unit processes and the cultured animals. Aquacultural Engineering aims to develop this bioengineering interface for aquaculture and welcomes contributions in the following areas: – Engineering and design of aquaculture facilities – Engineering-based research studies – Construction experience and techniques – In-service experience, commissioning, operation – Materials selection and their uses – Quantification of biological data and constraints Style of presentation is flexible, but those papers dealing with specific problems should attempt to define them clearly in terms of systems engineering, quantifying the constraints, proposing solutions, implementing and detailing the design, and finally evaluating the outcome.
