The International Journal of Nursing Studies (IJNS) provides a forum for original research and scholarship about health care delivery, organisation, management, workforce, policy and research methods relevant to nursing, midwifery and other health related professions. The IJNS aims to support evidence informed policy and practice by publishing research, systematic and other scholarly reviews, critical discussion, and commentary of the highest standard. The journal particularly welcomes studies that aim to evaluate and understand complex health care interventions and health policies and which employ the most rigorous designs and methods appropriate for the research question of interest. The journal also seeks to advance the quality of research by publishing methodological papers introducing or elaborating on analytic techniques, measures, and research methods. The journal has been publishing original peer-reviewed articles of interest to the international health care community since 1963, making it one of the longest standing repositories of scholarship in this field. The IJNS offers authors the benefits of: • A highly respected journal in its field with consistently high impact • Indexed in major databases: PubMed, Medline, Thomson Reuters - Science Citation Index, Scopus, Thomson Reuters - Social Science Citation Index, CINAHL and the BNI (British Nursing Index). • A truly global readership • Highly efficient editorial processes: average time from submission to first decision of 4 weeks • Rapid initial screening for suitability and editorial interest • Excellent peer reviewers drawn from a range of health service research disciplines • Final online publication as soon as 2 weeks post-acceptance. The IJNS endorses the Equator Network (http://www.equator-network.org/) an international initiative that seeks to improve reliability and value of research literature in health care by promoting transparent and accurate reporting of studies. We ask our authors to make use of appropriate reporting guidelines to ensure excellence in scientific reporting. Guidelines for authors can be accessed at https://www.editorialmanager.com/NS/default.aspx. Authors are also welcome to submit to IJNS's open access companion title, International Journal of Nursing Studies Advances, which welcomes excellent original research, reviews and discussion relevant to nursing, midwifery and other health related professions around the globe.

International Journal of Nursing Studies Advances

  • ISSN: 2666-142X
The International Journal of Nursing Studies Advances (IJNS Advances) is an open access journal that publishes excellent original research, reviews and discussion relevant to nursing, midwifery and other health related professions around the globe. It is a companion title to the respected International Journal of Nursing Studies. We aim to provide a forum for research and scholarly discourse that address topics of national or international significance. We particularly welcome methodologically sound studies that explore and explain patient or staff experience, studies that develop or translate instruments to measure patient and staff outcomes, and studies that develop and/or evaluate interventions to improve patient experience, their clinical outcomes or the capabilities of healthcare staff . We welcome papers that describe novel and important healthcare interventions in sufficient detail to allow their replication provided reporting conforms to the template for intervention description and replication (TIDieR) checklist and guide, especially when such interventions are the subject of an ongoing programme of research. Intervention descriptions must include an account of the theoretical mechanisms of action, the relevant research from which the intervention was developed and describe the current state of evidence about the effectiveness of the intervention. Feasibility, pilot and definitive studies are also considered provided there is sufficient rationale for publication and, in the case of intervention studies, a full description of the intervention. We welcome "negative" results (i.e. studies which do not support a hypothesised difference or association) provided that the design was robust. Discussion papers that elaborate issues and challenges facing health care in one country are welcomed, provided the discussion is grounded in research based evidence and the authors are addressing a global audience as well as a local one. Similarly we welcome papers that develop theory or research methods and those which elaborate on novel methods for the discipline, provided they are of general applicability. We will publish protocols for significant studies that are reported in sufficient detail to provide replication and verification of the final published research if submitted prior to the commencement of data collection.

International Journal of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing

  • ISSN: 1878-1241
  • 5 Year impact factor: 1.6
  • Impact factor: 1.4
Official journal of the Association of Maltese Orthopaedic Nurses, the Australia New Zealand Orthopaedic Nurses Association, Canadian Orthopaedic Nurses Association, RCN Society of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing and officially recognised by the Asian Association for Dynamic Osteosynthesis (Nursing), the Danish Orthopaedic Nurses Association (FSOS), Ortopedisjuksköterskor I Sverige (Sweden) and the International Collaboration of Orthopaedic Nursing The International Journal of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing is a peer-reviewed journal that seeks to promote the development and exchange of specialist knowledge within orthopaedic and trauma practice. The focus of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal trauma includes delivery of care for individuals with musculoskeletal injuries and disorders across the lifespan. It is not limited to purely the acute management of injuries and disorders but includes health promotion, bone health, falls/injury reduction, education, development of specialist workforce, contribution to health policy development and promotion of health in society. The journal is devoted primarily to nurses but also aims to serve other health professionals involved in the care of patients with orthopaedic and associated traumatic conditions. The journal aims to promote and share best practice through the dissemination of high quality research findings, debate within practice, exploration of professional issues and the development of health care practice as well as innovative roles. The journal publishes a wide range of papers from primary research and evidence updates to personal reflections on practice, book reviews, education and practice/management issues. The journal is committed to encouraging the sharing of new and innovative practices implemented across a broad range of international settings that will benefit people with musculoskeletal conditions and injuries worldwide. The journal encourages submission of different types of literature reviews such as scoping, narrative, integrative and systematic reviews, practice/quality improvement projects, healthcare system designs/reforms and innovations and letters to the editor regarding relevant topics. The journal is keen to consider submissions from a broad range of disciplines (ie non nursing) but it is essential that authors from those fields make the relevance of that paper to orthopaedic and trauma nursing overt in the manuscript. The mission of the journal is to facilitate global networking amongst orthopaedic and trauma nurses that results in the sharing of evidence-based practice, the dissemination of ideas and knowledge amongst orthopaedic and trauma nurses and other members of the health care team, including the organisations which support such practitioners in developing their knowledge and practice. The editorial team encourages and supports contributions from both experienced, developing and first time authors. Practice Development in Orthopaedics and Trauma Papers which describe initiatives and innovation in practice development or support continuing education are welcomed by the editors. In keeping with the journal's aims and scope, short papers are invited from clinical staff, educators and students. Such papers may focus on, but are not restricted to, best practice and practice development initiatives; implementation of research findings and education; improvements in patient care and development of the workforce in the clinical environment. Papers should be prepared in keeping with the journal's style (Guide for Authors can be found at Guide for Authors and should help the orthopaedic and trauma practitioner to develop and maintain their own skills and knowledge and help to transform delivery of quality care for patients elsewhere in the world. In addition, authors can use such papers to make the most of international networks by sharing their work, innovations and ideas.
