Journal Aims: Orthoplastic Surgery will serve the needs of those surgeons from around the world whose primary focus is on limb salvage and reconstruction. Readership will include physicians and therapists involved with care of the upper and lower extremity affected by trauma, tumor, sepsis and congenital differences.

The Journal will be a vehicle to promote teamwork with regards to limb salvage and reconstruction.

The Journal will present a state-of-the-art perspective and provide unique multidisciplinary consensus on extremity salvage.

Journal Scope:

Content will appeal to general surgeons, trauma surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, neurosurgeons, and specialists in these disciplines (for example joint replacement surgeons will be interested in soft tissue salvage techniques for compromised knee arthroplasties).

Trauma, tumor, infection, and treatment of the dysvascular and diabetic foot will cover a wide range of clinical conditions. Advances in the new field of Vascularized Composite Allotransplantation particularly of the upper extremity can be highlighted in the Journal in that VCA is a multidisciplinary effort.

Advances in reconstructive microsurgery as they relate to extremity care (supermicrosurgery, robotic microsurgery, and lymphatic microsurgery) can be featured.

The technology advances such as osseointegration, prosthetics and targeted muscle reinnervation can also be highlighted to round out the spectrum of the Orthoplastic field.

Over time-this journal will become the think tank of advances in extremity care. It will be a unique landing spot for content dedicated to limb reconstruction for multiple stakeholders.
