Yaniv Assaf
Prof. Assaf is a neuroscientist and biophysicist that received his graduate degrees in chemistry from The Tel Aviv University followed by joint post-doctorate fellowship at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). In his post-doc, he investigated different aspects of neuronal white matter mapping with MRI including implementation white matter mapping techniques for assessment of tissue damage in multiple sclerosis, stroke, and dementia (Alzheimer’s disease). In addition, Prof. Assaf developed new analysis tools that enhances the accuracy and sensitivity of MRI based white matter mapping techniques (the CHARMED model). In the last two decades, he has been focused on developing MRI techniques and analysis frameworks that will enable indirect measurement of micron-scale structures. The main hypothesis behind his research is that brain morphology and function are linked.

Ido Tavor
Dr. Tavor completed his PhD at Tel Aviv University. He then proceeded to a postdoctoral training at the University of Oxford where he specialized on advanced imaging techniques. He joined the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University on October 2017 and holds an inter-disciplinary lab in the Department of Anatomy and Anthropology and the Sagol School of Neuroscience, combining computational, statistical and cognitive neuroscience methods to study the human brain and behavior. His focus is on exploring the connection between brain structure, function and human behavior, using MRI.
