Affiliations and expertise
Born into a musical family, Colin Aguiar started playing the drums at the age of two, wrote his first musical at the age of 16, and stepped into the film scoring spotlight at 21 as a protege of composer Mychael Danna. With Danna, he has worked on such films as Atom Egoyan's Oscar-nominated "The Sweet Hereafter" and Ang Lee's "The Ice Storm." Although an orchestral composer, his approach to film scoring has covered techniques bowing to electronic, ethnic, as well as the experimental.
