Recent Progress on CNTs-containing Polymer Composites

Worldwide demand for carbon-nanotubes (CNTs)-containing polymer composites has surged in recent years, predominantly in the aerospace, automotive, electronic packaging, commodity and construction sectors. This is due to their superior mechanical, thermal, electrical and flame-retardant properties without adding excess weight. Recent Progress on CNTs-containing Polymer Composites covers the major developments in these advanced polymeric materials over the last 5 to 10 years, from fundamental aspects to real applications. The chapters discuss the techniques used to synthesize CNTs, CNTs’ chemistry and physics and processing of polymer/CNTs composites. The structural and morphological characterization of CNTs is also considered, as well as their improved and enhanced material properties and melt-state rheological and crystallization behavior and lastly the current applications and future prospects for these materials.
