Prashant Kumar
Professor Kumar has over 4 decades of teaching, research, and industrial experience. He received his master’s degree from University of California, Berkeley, and his PhD from Brown University. Upon receiving his PhD he returned to India where for the next 30 years he had roles as Professor, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, and Head of the Design Program at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. In 2008 he moved to College of Engineering Pune where he has since served as Professor, teaching courses on mechanics of materials, fracture and fatigue, product design, and polymer composites, all while performing research in these same areas.
