Doris George Yohannan
Dr. Yohannan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy at Government Medical College in Kerala, India. He completed his MBBS and MD in Anatomy, and his interests include teaching anatomy via the integration of clinical and imaging concepts. He has authored multiple articles in national and international journals, a book chapter, and is part of multiple collaborations for research projects that apply modern technology to anatomy teaching, which include the Neuroradiology department of Sree Chitra Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, IIIT Hyderabad (for neuroanatomy), and faculty members from the University of Michigan for virtual histology. He is a member of the American Association of Anatomists, the Kerala Chapter of Anatomical Society of India, and the Society of Clinical Anatomists. He is very passionate about teaching, with the belief that anatomy teaching should be simplified and integrated with allied sciences to highlight clinical relevance. To this end, he developed a YouTube channel called ‘Air Anatomy’ which advocates the usage of simple hand gestures to teach and learn complex spatial anatomy.
