Peter Macreadie
Dr Peter Macreadie is the head of the Blue Carbon Lab, which focusing on Blue Carbon as both a solution toward mitigating Greenhouse Gasses through carbon sequestration. He has received numerous awards in his career and has produced over 100 publications to date.
Dr Macreadie’s research focuses on understanding and responding to the impacts of global change in aquatic ecosystems, addressing all biotic components including microbes, plants, fish and megafauna. His primary focus is on capitalising on ‘blue carbon’ and its ability to help mitigate climate change, by taking a multi-disciplinary approach, spanning the fields of chemistry, ecology, microbiology, economics, molecular biology, and policy.
